ORDINANCE NO. 1276
BY COUNCILMAN McCLUSKEY
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND TITLE 1, CHAPTER 20, SECTION 2, OF THE CITY
CODE OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO, BY REPEALING
SECTION 2 OF SAID TITLE 1, CHAPTER 20, OF THE CITY CODE OF
CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO, AND BY SUTSTITUTING
THEREFOR A NEW SECTION 2., WHICH SHALL PROVIDE THAT EVERY ORDINANCE
SHALL BE READ ON THREE DIFFERENT DAYS, TWO READINGS OF WHICH MAY
BE BY TITLE ONLY AND ONE READING OF WHICH SHALL BE IN FULL,
UNLESS ONE -HALF, PLUS ONE, OF THE MEMBERS OF THE FULL COUNCIL
SHALL DISPENSE WITH THE RULE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CALDWELL, COUNTY OF CANYON, STATE OF IDAHO:
Section 1. That Title 1, Chapter 20, of the City Code
of Caldwell, County of Canyon, State of Idaho, be amended by
deleting therefrom Section 2 of said Title 1, Chapter 20.
Section 2. That Title 1, Chapter 20 of the City Code
of Caldwell, County of Canyon be amended by adding thereto the
following which shall be designated as Section 2:
Every ordinance shall be read on three different
days, two readings of which may be by title only and
one reading of which shall be in full, unless one -half
plus one of the members of the full council shall dis-
pense with the rule. Ordinances shall be open to
discussion and amendment and may be referred to a
committee and may be continued to the next meeting of
the council unless by a vote of the council some other
disposition is made. On final passage the yeas and
nayes shall be called and recorded and a concurrence of
a majority of the council shall be required.
Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
PASSED BY THE COUNCIL of the City of Caldwell this
17th day of July, 1972.
