An Ordinance providing for a license to be paid by any person, firm or
corporation engaged in running a hack, coach, omnibus, automobile or
other carriage for hire and providing a penalty for violation
thereof.
Be it Ordained by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell:
Section 1. Every person, firm or corporation engaged in running a
hac'"-. coach, omnibus, automobile or other carriage used in carrying passe
engers in the City of Caldwell, for hire, shall pay a license to run the
same the sun of 05.00 per day, $15.00 per week, or 117.50 per year for
each hack, coach, omnibus, automobile or other carriage so run.
See, 2. That eyery hack, coach, omnibus, automobile and other car-
riage mentioned in Section 1 of this ordinance shall ht,',ve a legible number
conspicuously thereon, a record of which number must be kept by the city
clerk upon the issuing of the license.
See. 3. That the rates to be charged by any person,.firm or corpor-
ation engaged in running a hack, coach, omnibus, automobile or other carri-
age used in carrying passengers in the City,of Caldwell, for hire, shall
not exceed the following: 25 cents for each passenger carried anywhere
within the city limits.' and by the hour, not to exceed $2.50 per hour, car-
rying from one to four passengers*
Sec. #. Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of
thisordinarce shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined any sur. not exceeding $100.00.
