ORDINANCE NO. 1118

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE I, CHAPTER 4, SECTION 1 - 4 - 8 AS IT
PERTAINS TO THE REMOVAL FROM OFFICE BY THE MAYOR OF ANY APPOINTED
OFFICER OF THE CITY; AMENDING SECTION 1 -4 -15 REGARDING THE CALL
OF SPECIAL MEETINGS BY MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL; AMENDING SECTION
1 -4 -18 PERTAINING TO POLICE POWERS OF THE MAYOR; AMENDING SECTION
1 -4 -19 CHANGING THE AGE OF MALE INHABITANTS OF THE MUNICIPALITY
THAT THE MAYOR MAY CALL UPON TO AID HIM IN ENFORCING THE LAW; AND
AMENDING TITLE I, CHAPTER 5, SECTION 1 -5 -4 AS TO THE TIME AND PLACE
OF MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF
SAID ORDINANCE.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Council of the City of

Caldwell, Idaho:
Section 1. That Section 1 -4 -8 of Title I, Chapter 4 of
the City Code of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be amended to read
as follows:
„ REMOVAL FROM OFFICE: The Mayor may remove from office
by and with the consent and advise of four (4) members of the
Council any appointed officer of the City, any member of any
board or commission whose removal from office is not otherwise
provided for."
Section 2. That Section 1 -4 -15 of Title I, Chapter 4 of
the City Code of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be amended to read
as follows:
"SPECIAL MEETINGS: The Mayor, or any four (4) members
of the Council, shall have the power to call special meetings of
the Council, the object of which shall be submitted in writing
and the object as well as the disposition thereof shall be entered
upon the journal by the Clerk."
Section 3. That Section 1 -4 -18 of Title I, Chapter 4 of
the City Code of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be amended to read
3 U as follows:
31 "POLICE POWERS: The Mayor shall have jurisdiction over
32 all places within five (5) miles of the Corporate Limits of the

1 Municipality for the enforcement of any health or quarantine
2 ordinance and regulation and shall have jurisdiction in all
3 matters, excepting taxation, within one (1) mile of the Corporate
4 Limits of the Municipality."
5 Section 4. That Section 1 -4 -19 of Title I, Chapter 4 of
6 the City Code of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be amended to read

as follows:
"MAY REQUIRE AID: The Mayor is hereby authorized to call
on every male inhabitant of the Municipality of the age twenty -one
(21) or over to aid him in enforcing the law."
Section 5. That Section 1 -5 - of Title I, Chapter 5 of
the City Code of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be amended to read
as follows:
"TIME AND PLACE OF MEETINGS: The Council shall hold
regular sessions in the City Hall on the first and third Monday
of each month at 8:00 P.M."
Section 6. This ordinance from and after its passage,
approval and publication as required by law, shall take effect
on January 1, 1968.
PASSED By the Council this 4th day of December, 1967.
APPROVED By the Mayor this 4th day of December, 1967.
