HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1034BILL NO. 3.4 ORDINANCE NO. 1031 BY COUNCILMAN KEfs AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 -2 -1, TITLE II, CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, INCREASING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE ZONING COMMISSION FROM FIVE TO EIGHT MEMBERS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR SAID ORDINANCE. 7+J Be it ordained by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho: pires, excepting the Councilman, the Mayor shall appoint a Commis- sioner for the term of four (4) years and until his successor is appointed. Any Commissioner may be discharged from office at any time by the Mayor with the concurrence of a majority of the members of the Council." Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval and publication as re- quired by law. 9 Section 1. That Section 2 -2 -1 of Title II, Chapter 2 10 of the City Code of Caldwell, Idaho be amended to read as follows: it "2 -2 -1: COMMISSION APPOINTED; TERMS OF OFFICE: There is 12 hereby created a Commission to be known and designated as the Zoning 13 Commission of the City, which shall consist of eight (8) members to A� 14 be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council. One (1) of 15 whom shall be a member of the City Council and the other seven (7) 16 must be residents of the City. Members of said Commission, except- 17 ing the member of the Council, shall hold office for terms of four c� 18 (4) years each, and said terms shall be staggered in such a manner 19 so that the terms of not more than two (2) members shall expire in 20 any one (1) year. The member appointed from the Council shall hold 91 office for the duration of his elected tenure as Councilman and he 22 shall have no vote on any matters of business considered by the 23 Zoning Commission. Thereafter as the term of each such member ex- pires, excepting the Councilman, the Mayor shall appoint a Commis- sioner for the term of four (4) years and until his successor is appointed.
