ORDINANCE NO. 1017

AN ORDINANCE AMMENDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER 3, SECTION 8, OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, TO ESTABLISH A
SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR ELECTRICAL INSPECTION; TO ESTABLISH A
MINIMUM FOR RESIDENTIAL FEES, NEW CONSTRUCTION, RE- CONSTRUCTION,
RE- WIRING AND ADDITIONS FEES, RESIDENTIAL ELECTRIC SPACE
HEATING FEES, AND.A.COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, AND OTHER INSTALL-
ATION FEES, AS EMERGENCY REPEAL OF ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUB-
LICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND ITS TAKING EFFECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CALDWELL, IDAHO, as follows:
Section 1. That Section 5 -3 -8 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be and the same is hereby repealed,
rescinded, and annulled.
Section 2. That Section 5 -3 -8 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Caldwell, Idaho, be and the same is hereby estab-
lished as follows:
11 5 -3 -8 SCHEDULE OF INSPECTION FEES
a. TEMPORARY SERVICES. A temporary service is a
service entrance which will be used for CONSTRUCTION
PURPOSES ONLY and which will be removed when con-
struction is completed. All other services are
classified as permanent. No inspection fee will be
required for temporary services as herein defined.
b. MINIMUM FEE. The minimum fee for any electrical
inspection shall be $2.50.
c. .RESIDENTIAL - NEW CONSTRUCTION. One or two room
residence with one bathroom, $2.50. Three room res-
idence with one bathroom, $3.00. Four room residence
with one bathroom, $4.00. Five room residence with one
bathroom, $5.00. More than five rooms, $5.00 plus 50
cents for each additional room. Additional bathrooms,
utility rooms, unfinished basements, finished rooms in
basements and residential garages are each to be included
as one room.
NOTE: - Duplex apartments come under this schedule.
d. RESIDENTIAL - REWIRING AND ADDITIONS. Any change in
the service entrance and /or installation of any new
circuit, distribution panel or feeder, $2.50. New

additions or complete rewiring - same as new construction
for number of rooms wired. Inspection will not be require
for minor repairs or alterations where there is no change
in the service entrance, no additional circuit is required'
and the wiring cost does not exceed $50.00, but the wiring
must conform to the provisions of the National Electrical
Code.
e. RESIDENTIAL - ELECTRICAL SPACE HEATING. (1 to 5 KW,
$1.00) (6 to 10 KW, $2.00) (11 to 15 KW, $3.00) (16 to
20 KW, $4.00) (21 KW and over, $5.00).
NOTE: These fees are in addition to the fees for general
wiring covered in paragraphs IVI and. ".
f. COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL OR OTHER INSTALLATIONS. Wiring
cost not exceeding $100.00, $2.50. Wiring costs exceeding
$100.00 but not exceeding $10,000.00, $1.50 plus 1% of
wiring cost. Wiring cost exceeding $10,000.00, $101.50
plus 1/2 of 1% of wiring cost exceeding $10,000.00. The
inspection fees listed in this paragraph shall apply to
any electrical installation not specifically mentioned
elsewhere in this schedule. The wiring cost shall be the
cost to the owner of all labor and all wiring materials
and equipment installed as part of the wiring system.
Motors, utilization equipment, appliances and 1_1.3 fi,-
tures need not be included.
NOTE: Apartment buildings with 3 or more dwelling units
come under this schedule.
Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force and take effel
from and after its passage, approval and publication.
