The Council met pursuant to call and acknowledgment of notice in the following form: CALL AND ACMOWa. ]DGMENT OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, do each � ('.hereby acknowledge notice of a special meeting of said City Council to be held at the Council Chambers, in the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho at the hour of 5:00 P. M. on the 28th, day of December, 1956, !for the transaction of all business in connection with the following object: Receiving bids for office (furnishings for the City Office Building, which object was presented to each of the mdersigned in writing. Scovell had been contacted regarding the parking of his stock trucks in the residential area and fo n:i Mr. Scovell willing to carry out the recom,Lendations made by the Council. Furnishings for the new City Hall were discussed and the City Engineer was instructed to prepare specifications preliminary to calling for bids. Representatives of the Jaycees were present and discussed remodeling the building which was trans- d ferred to the City by the Housing Authority. The Mayor appointed Councilmen Bettis and Burrell to check into :this and report back to the Council. c The Mayor and Council discussed available City owned prop rty as a possible site for the Ore -Ida Boy Scout Council Building if tae Council shoulddscide to build in Caldwell. Councilman Burrell was instructed to meet with the Scout council and advise them of the sites available. M. M. Krall was present and requested the Council to move the dog pound. This was referred to the Chief of Police. The Mayor stated the Merit Award for the Natinal Guard would be presented at a Luncheon on Dec- ember 14, and the Council members r: :ere urged to attend. Moved by Shorb, seconded by Bettis the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute an agreement on behalf of the City of Caldwell with The Oregon Short Line Railroad c ompany -Union Pacific Railroad 'ompany'i for a city water pipe line crossing of main tracks at right angles at Engineers Station 33 }41,0, 'which is 2616.1 feet Easterly measured along said center line from its intersection with the West line of Section 21,� Township 4 North Range i4'est Boise Meridian. III Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion �s unanimously carried. A delegation from the Jaycees discussed remodeling the building now owned by the city located at I II Canyon Hill Park. The Mayor appointed Councilmen Burrell and Bettis to check into the feasibility of using the building for Recreation purposes and report back to Council. Councilman Bettis discussed the proposed Freeway route, !i Moved by Bettis, seconded by Eldredge the City Attorney be instructed to prepare a Resolution to be sent to the State Engineer recommending a route. There being no further business to cane before the Council it was moved by Eldredge, seconded by (Burrell that Council adjourn. Motioncarried. , Mayor. Ali
