HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-12-21city council minutes4 On the contrary, I must say that 1 am very much disannointed with the action o° a couole of our Civic Clubs, Instead of them adopting resolutions of recommemling ways and means of solving an imnorta'nt oroblem, they availed themselves of an onnortunity to take a. nspative position of criticising an action by the City Council for something that is now history. I refer to the resolution concerning the mo "ing of the Eodeo from its pr - seht location on or before April 1, 1961. I wish to call your attention to the fart that those two resolutions are identical - which to me would indicate were audited by the one or soma persons and constitutes a col- lusion to defeat the efforts of the amity Council and at the same time place the responsibility of th- failure or death of the Cnlnw 11 'Might Rodeo with the Haven and Council. Gentlemen, in conclusion I must at the very least say that I resent this type of high pressure and I do not propose to su'omit to any rich dictatorial edicts. Sincerely submitted, Emery L. Vassar, nre=ident This renort was discussed by the Council an,+ it was unanimously agreed by the Council to reaffirm the stand taken at a previous meeting.
