HomeMy WebLinkAbout1914-12-21city council minutes493 the special assessments which are the charges above referred to, NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, that the tax collector of Canyon County be requested to refrain from collecting taxes upon the following described property and that the Honorable Board of County Commission- ers be requested to cancel all taxes and delinquent taxes against such property which have been assessed against the same since the City of Caldwell has come into possession thereof, the property herein referred to as belonging to the City of Caldwell, is sit- uated within said City and is more particularly described as follows, to wit, The lots One (1) and Two (2) of Block 'Nineteen (19) , the Lots Eleven (11) and Twelve (12) of Block Eighteen (18), all in Original Townsite, the Block Twenty Six (26) of Hasbrouck's addition to the City of Caldwell. the Block Seventy (70) of Devers Addition to the City of Caldwell, Idaho, and the lots Twenty One (21) to Twenty four (24) in- clusive of Block Twenty four (24) of DormanA Addition to the City of Caldwell, as the same Appears on the revised map of the said City of Caldwell now on file in the office of the Recorder of Canyon County, Idaho, and the City Attorney is hereby directed to deliver copies of this resolution to the Board of County Commissioners. It was voted upon motion of Parker that the resolution be adopted. Councilman Parker stated that Mr. W. C. Parker and John Flynn had requested permis- sion to erect frame buildings within the fire limits. It was voted upon motion of Ackley that the matter be referred to the Fire Committee with power to act. Councilman Parker reported that he had taken up the matter of additional street lights with the light company, and that he would be able to secure some few incandescent lights at points which he indicated. It was voted upon motion of Adams that Councilman Parker be instructed to proceed with the matter and that he be given full power to act. . It was voted upon motion of Harrington that Council adorn until Monday evening January 4th., 1915, at 7,30 o'clock. City Clerk. Council Chamber, City of Caldwell, Idaho, December 21st., 1914. You will please take notice that pursuant to the authority in me vested I have called a meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers at the City Hall at 7,30 494 1 L o'clock P. M. of the twenty first day of December, 1914, for the purpose of allowing and authorizing the payment of all claims against the Road Department of the City of Caldwell. Vinson " 3.75 Mrs. Clara Powell 378 Loads Sand 37.80 Total,- - - - - -- 359.66 495 The Street Commissioner stated that Mr. Long Whitteman had offered to donate the labor necessary to sand Linden Street, from the Boulevard, one eighth mile east, if the City would furnish the sand. The offer was accepted. The Street Commissioner also stated that it would probably be necessary to purchase some sand from Doctor Wright, in order to complete the work on the Boulevard. Upon motion of Harrington he was given power to act in the matter. Councilman Adams brought up the matter of heating the third story of the City Hall, stating that it was necessary to install more pipe in order to produce the proper radiation, and that the City had the necessary pipe. Upon motion of Ackley the matter was referred to the Fire Engineer with instructions to do the necessary work. It was voted upon motion of Staunenberg that Council adjorn. City Clerk. Turner presiding, Councilman Ackley, Adams, Boone, Harrington and Staunenberg present, 9. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business was traneacteds The minutes of the sessions held December 7th and 21st respectively, were read and it was voted upon motion of Parker that the same be approved. Parker arrived during the reading of the minutes.
