COUNCIL CHAMBERS, DECEMBER 13, 19$8, 8:00 P. M. A Special Meeting of the City Co -neil met in the Co uncil Room with the Mayor, W. R. Hollingsworth, presiding. On Roll Call the following Co answered present; Edgar L. Oakes, F. D. Mumford, W. E. Babcock, W. TT. Odle, G' M. Fenrieb'a.hd Norvil T. Hinds. This Meeting was called to take up new and iznfinished business. The Mayor appointed Mr. Tom LaFond on the LIBRARY BOARD to fill the vacancy left by the death of Mrs. Kimbrough. Moved by Odle, seconded by Fenrich that this appointment beconfirmed. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed Councilman Odle on the FIRE AND WATER COITMITTEE, Moved by Mumford, seconded by Babcock that this appointment be confirmed. Motion carried. This being the time set for the second reading of Bill No. 5, Proposed Ordinance Number 555, it was moved by Mumford, seconded by Babcock that the Rules requiring read ing of an Ordinance on three separate days be suspended and that Proposed Ordinance Number �s Nos. Those opposed; None. Absent and not voting: None. The Mayor then declared the motion had carried by the necessary three - fourths majority and directed the Clerk to read the Proposed Ordinance the second time by title and the third time in full, section by section. The Clerk read the Proposed Ordinance me directed. The question then being "Shall the Proposed Ordinance No. 555 pass ". The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the Roll with the following result: Those voting in favor were: Oakes Mumfi Fenrich, Babcocl {, Odle and Hinds. Those opposed: None. Absent and not voting; None. There pon the Mayor d sclared that the Proposed Ordinance No 555, had passed and the Mayor in open session of the Council duly signed and approved the Ordinance, and the Clerk duly ,signed and attested the same, which became Ordinance No. 5551 The Mayor then directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No 555, to be printed in the Caldwell News- Tribuna, the official newspaper of thi City of.Caldwell, Idaho. Hollingsworth, presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; Edger L. Oakes and G. M.Fen rich. Absent; F.D. Mmuford, Norvil T. Hinds, W.E. Babcock and W. H. Odle.` Moved by Oakes, seconded by Fenrich as there was not a quorum pregant that the Council adjourn to meet January 3rd., 19$9, at 8;00 o'clock. Motion carried. City Clerk. Mr. John Smeed appeared before the Mayor and Council relative to the item of X259, §2 which appeared to be charged against the Union Stock Yatda through error on per tonal, property taxes. Whereupon after due consideration thefollowing preamble and resolution was peas+ tented to the Mayor and Council by Councilmen Babcock, who moved the adoption thereof which ietion was duly seconded by Councilman Fenrich.
