The roll_of. the City..Council..was. called with the .following members present:;.,;: Gamboa, Carter,.,.McCluskey;.Williams, and Banks. Absent: Dakan._ .. (APPROVAL OF MINUTES) It was MOVED by Carter,. SECONDED by Banks to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the Regular Meeting of .December 2,.1975,.,until,the next. Regulat.City_.Council..Meeting. MOTION CARRIED (BID OPENING - SEWER LATERAL EXTENSION) The Mayor called on the City Engineer, Mr. Lewis,'to open the bids. Mr. Lewis explained that this was the extension one half block South of West Ash and West of Meadow extended. There was one of right.of way-.that was - not received -as yet which was from the Salvation Army. The City Engineer stated that'it would.be coming soon as the.Boaxd =of Directors was meeting this week. The City Engineer recommended that the bids be taken under advisement until this right of way was received. Also, the City Engineer continued, the promise was made for five $600.00 units from the people involved: The City Engineer proceeded to open the bids as follows: 1. Gell Shunn of Ontario Total bid: $5,610.00. 2. A & .T- Construction of Homedale' Total bid: $6,762.60. 3. Sommer Construction of Nampa Total bid: $5,380.00. The City Engineer recommended that'the bids be taken under advisement until the City Council Meeting of the 16th of December with the provision that an extension in time for the completion be made. MOLTED by Banks, SECONDED by McCloskey that the bids be taken under advisement with the stipulation that the time of completion of the project be extended -eight days,-or until the bid was awarded on the 16th of December, and subject to the right of way being received and receiving the five payments of $600.00 each. MOTION CARRIED (STREET PETITIONS) The City Engineer asked the City Council "s opinion as to how the petitions should read regarding sidewalks when sent out Book 16 Page 241 to those people requesting petitions for Local Improvement Districts. He was asking if it should stipulate that sidewalks were required. Much discussion followed between the Mayor and the Council members. The City Council then instructed the City Engineer to contact those persons who had requested street petitions and advise them that sidewalks would be included in the Focal Improvement Districts. He was asked to get the people's opinion on whether the bonds should be for a ten year or twenty year period. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:35 P.M.
