The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Co met in the Co.mcil Room of the
City H , with the Mayor H. E. McCluskey presiding.
On Roll Call the following councilmen answered present: Wilbur Daken, Thurlow
Bryant, F.E. Newman, Floyd Blunt, E.E. Fresher and C. 0. McDannel,
The Minutes of November 2nd., were read and approved as read.
Mr. E. G. Giddings, City Dog Catcher appeared and requested that the license fee
for dogs be lowered. This matter was referred to the City Attorney.
Thereupon Councilman Dakan, introduced Bill No. 32, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO EIM VERMAAS, SOLE OWNER OF THE VERMAAS BUS
LINES, HIS SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, TO OPERATE PASSENGER BUSES ON THE PUBLIC HIGHWAYS OF THE
CITY OF CALDWELL; FIXING THE TERM OF SAID FRANCHISE; PROVIDING FOR THE FILING WITH THE CITY
CLERK THE GRANTEE OF PROPOSAL OF ROUTES TO BE TRAVELED AND Tr7ES OF OPERATION, AND
FARES; PROVIDING FOR THE FILING WITH SAID CITY CLERK BY SAID GRANTEE OF PROPOSAL CHANGING
SAID SCHEDULE; PROVIDING THAT TAE MAYOR AND COUNCIL HAY DIRECT THE TIMES OF OPERATION OF
BUSES IN THE STREETS OVER 7FIC7 THEY ARE TO TRAVEL, AND MAY ALSO FIX FARES TO BE CHARGED,
ALL WITH DUE REGARD TO THE EXPENSE OF OPERATION, COST OF EQUIPMENT AND ANTICIPATED REVENUE;
PROVIDING FOR THE FILING BY THE GRANTEE WITH TFE CITY CLERK OF A CERTIFICATE SHOWING TTIAT
THE GRANTEE HAS IN FORCE AND EFFECT LIABILITY AND PROPPRTY DAMAGE INSURANCE AND FIXING
THE AMOUNTS THEREOF: PROVIDING THAT SUCH INSITHANO7' IS TO BE ICFPT IN FORCE AT ALL TIMES,
AND PROVIDING FOR THE FORFEITURE OF THE FFANCT3LSE IN THE EVENT OF FAILURE TO KEEP SAID
INSUFlNCE IN EFFECT: PROVIDING FOR THE MAINTAINING OF EQUIPMENT IN A "APE CONDITION FOR

which was read for the first tine and the Council proceeded to a consideration of Bill No
32. It was moved by Daken, seconded by McDannel, that the rules requiring that the read-
ing of a Bill on three s eparate days be suspended and that Bill No. 32,be read the second
time vy title and the third time in full, section by section and placed on its final
passage. The Mayor directed the clerk to all the roll on the above motion with the fol-
lowing result. Those voting in the affirmative were: Bryant, Dakan, Newman, Blunt, Frashe
and McDannel. Negative; None. Absent and not voting: None. The Mayor declared the
motion "had passed by the necessary threefoiirths majority and directed the Clerk to read
Bill Bo. 32 the second time by title and the third time in full, section by section.
The Clerk read the Bill a directed. The question being "Shall Bill No 32, passf« The
Mayor directed the Clerk toc-1 l the roll on the above question which resulted as follows:
Those voting in the affirmative were: Bryant, Dakan, Newman, Blunt, Frasher and McDannel.
Negative: None. Absent and not voting: None.
Thereupon the Mayor declared Bill No 32, had passed and the Mayor in open
session of the Council duly signed and approved the Bill, and the Clerk dU17 signed and
attested the same which became Ordinance No. 621. The Mayor directed the Clerk to make

prpper,bf the same end to cause Ordinance NO 621 to be published in the Caldwell News
Tribune the official newspaper of tre City, of Caldwell, Idaho.
Moved by Blunts econded by Newman that the Mayor and City Council enter into
a contract with Chas Robertson for the hauling of garbage. Motion c
Application for Beer License was read from Jess L. Smith P Archie Alen, the
fee accompanying the application.
Moved by Dakan, seconded by Bryant that this license be granted.
The Mayor informed the Council that the Dairymen's Co- operative Creamery re-
quested a lower rate for city water.
The Mayor appointed Councilman Dakan, L. M. Porter and C.D.Crandell to in-
vestigate this matter and report to the Council.

off the Water Ledger the following uncollectable bills. Motion c arried.

adoption thereof which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Dakan.

WHEREAS, George Hammer, Sexton at the Canyon Hill Cemetery, has advised the
City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho that the southerly 12 feet of Fir Street be-
tween blocks 4, 5 and 63; the southerly 12 feet of Greenwood Street between blocks 3 and 4
and the easterly 12 feet of Linda Vista Avenue between Blocks 3, 4 and 63, and Park I,b1Gcl
54, of Canyon. Hill Cemetery, revised _'plat : of Sept.,.1917;_are not'needed for means of egre3

NOTATED 1942,PERTAINING TO THE SALARIES OF THE CITY TREASURER, DEPUTY CITY CLERK, CITY
ENGINEER, BUILDING INSPECTOR, POUND MASTER, AND hMAT INSPECTOR OF THE CITY OF CALDNELL,
AND PROVIDING AN EPPECTIVE DATE FOR TI GOING INTO ErrMT OF THIS ORINANCE.

NOTATED 1942,PERTAINING TO THE SALARIES OF THE CITY TREASURER, DEPUTY CITY CLERK, CITY
ENGINEER, BUILDING INSPECTOR, POUND MASTER, AND hMAT INSPECTOR OF THE CITY OF CALDNELL,
AND PROVIDING AN EPPECTIVE DATE FOR TI GOING INTO ErrMT OF THIS ORINANCE.
which was reed for the first time and the Council proceeded to a consideration of Bill No.
33. It was moved by Dakan, seconded by Newman, that the rules requiring that the reading
of a'Bill on three separate days be suspended and that Bill No. 33, be read, the second tim
by title and the third time in full, section by section and placed on its final passage.
The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the above motion with the following resul :

Negative: None. Absent nd not voting. None. The Mayor declared the jotinn had passed
by the necessary threefourths majority and directed the Clerk to read Hill No 33 the
second time by title and the third time in full, section by section. The Clerk rmsd the
Bill as directed. The nuestion being "Shall Bill No 33, pass ?" The ? Mayor directed the Cle k
to call the roll on the above question which resulted as fdllows: Those voting in the

Thererpnn the M declared Bill No 33, had passed and the 'Mayor in open seasdipn
of the Council duly signed and approved the Bill, and the Clerk duly siemed and attested
the same which became Ordinance No 622. The Mayor directed the Clerk to make proper entry
of the same and to cause O rdinance No 622 to be published in the Caldwell News Tribune the
official newspaper of the City of Caldwell, Ids�
J Moved by Rlunt, seconded by Prasher, that the City pnrcbsse gasoline from the
tank wagdna at 1 cent leas than tank wagon price and that the purchase of gasoline be
�rotated among the different gasoline dealers. Motioncnrried.

The Assessment Roll vans filed by the City Clerk,
Application for Beer License was read from Wm Milliner, the fee accompanying
the applhnation.
