COUNCIL CHAMBERS, DECEMBER, 6, 1927. 8:00 P. M. Council met in regular session with Mayor hunbap presiding, and Gouncilmen Davis, Dutton, Hoffman, Jackson, Modonnel and Mumford present. minutew of last meetings read and approved. R. B. Coberly appeared before the Council in behalf of the Adventist College and residents in the vaoinity of Linden and Illinois 3treete and asked that the City install a street light on the corner of Linden and Illinois Street. He further stated that there would be no expense of installing said light. It was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Davis, that the request be granted, and that the Idaho rower Oo install said light. Mr. Ooberly further $eked that the City send Walnut Street from Speedway East 8 blocks, then North on Indiana 4 blocks to the Boulevard. The matter was referred to the Street RO mmittee. H. A. Griffith&, County Attorney, appeared before the Council asking that the City make some arrangements with the County for the care of expense of the two priabners! committed to the 4ounty Jail. The Oity Attorney held that they were not City prisoners, but came under the jurisdiction of a Justice Court. No action taken. J. W. Crow, representing the Idaho Power Co. presented the matter of Street Lighting in the business district, showing blue prints etc, and giving approximate cost Of construction. Porter, City Engineer, Building Inspector, Supt. of Water Worka, Streets, and 8upt.0of Irrigation. It was voted on motion of Mumford, seconded by Hoffman, that the appointment of Lawrence M. Porter be approved. It was decided that the Road Department sand and gravel from the top of the hill to the Cemetery, and certain streets around the Park and thus complete the eategsive street improvement for this liear. The application of J. wail & Co. for Pool Hall License, a000mpanied by $25.00 for the quarter ending February 28, 1928. It was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Davie, that the license be granted, and the Clerk was instruot to issue same. It was voted on motion Mumford, seconded by MoGonnel, that Council adjourn to December 16, 1927. APPROM: i 5 ;
