The minutes of the sessions held in the month of November, 1913 were read and approved. Taxes 1913, Taxes 1913, Taxes 1913, Taxes 1913, 2.00 4.50 12.96 .80 Royal Insurance policy No. A 33Q9 insuring the Chemical Auto for one year from December 4, 1913, in the sum of $6,500.00, Premium $146.25, was received from the W.R.Wilkerson agency. It was voted upon motion of Steunenberg that the policy be returned and the. clerk was requested to have the same re- written in the sum of $5,000.00. Tt was voted upon motion of Boone that the sidewalk assessment roll, as prepared by the City Engineer, and covering the cost of the construction of the cement sidewalk abutting on Block 112 and 113, Strahorn Addition, is hereby confirmed ratified and approved, and the clerk was instructed to certify the roll to the county for collection. The City Treasurer'a reprot for the month of October, 1913 and the reports of the following officers for the month of November, 1913, were read, City Clerk, Sexton, Police Judge, Street Commissioner, Water Commissioner, City Engineer, Chief of Police and City Librarian. 41V file. I I I It was voted upon motion of Adams that the reports be approved and placed on The time coming on regular for the opening of bide for the construction of cement sidewalks in front of Lot 1, Block 26, Original, and in front of Lot 24, Block 22, Original, the following bid was received from Calkins and Bingham: Cement Work thirteen cents per equar surface foot, Fills fifty cents per yard. Work to be performer as soon as weather conditions will permit in the spring. It was voted upon motion of Adams that the bid be accepted. Petition of I. Addrewe et -al, praying " That an are light be placed at the Intersection of Kimball Avenue and Everett Street " was read and ordered placed on file The Fire Chief submitted bide, which he had been instructed to procure, on one dozen rubber coats, hate and boots, as followee Natt Joslyn Company of Portland, Oregor. $165.50, M.Alexander Company, Caldwell, $85.00. It was voted upon motion of Boone that the bid of the M. Alexander be accepted and that the fire committee be instructed to purchase the outfits. Ackley reported that he was having some of the roads leading into the City draged at an expense of seventy five cents per mile. He was instructed to continue the work as long as necessary. Street Commissiuner Campbell reported that some of the farmers in the outlying districts of the city were willing to drag the roads if the city would furnish the drag. He was instructed to make the beet arrangements that he could in having the work done. Mr. Wm. Murray appeared and asked the council to release his property, on 6th. and Belmont Streets from the special Sprinkling tax, stating that the streets had not been sprinkled in front of the said property. It was voted upon motion of Adams that the clerk be instructed to release the assessment. Mr. McOse, assistant City Engineer reported that he had taken up with the gov- erment the matter of bridges to be constructed over the goverment drainage ditch in the city limits, and that the government wan willing to turn into the City the amount that they would expend on the bridges It was voted upon motion of Adams that the Engineer be requested to ask the government officials to submit plane for the bridges. City Attorney Stone reported that the Mayor and Council of Emmett would execute a note to the City of Caldwell to reimburse us for our tax money which was erroneously paid them by the county in the year 1910. Said note to run one year at seven percent interest. It was voted upon motion of Boone that the City Attorney be authorized to receive the note. �f 1 y'. L� 42 Steunenbarg stated that the ditch in front of the Jahs Horn property had been filed up and he suggested that provisions be made to care for the ditch water in that part of town.
