Cou n cil met in re$U&&Nr session- iursuant to adjournment with Mayor Griffiths plsaiding, and Oouncilnin Adam, Ada®, Bardsley, Walker, Zeh, present; 8horb, Clerk. Voted, on motion of Zeh, that lbabidafor repairing the city 1a.il be opened and considered. Bids were opened as followso H. Bitner, $280.00. Fred Howmd, $3014.00. Voted, on motion of Zeh, that the bid of H. Bitner being the lowest and best, bid, that the same be accepted and the contract be awarded to the said H. Bitner. The following resolution was read. and on motion of Walker, adopteds "Resolved. That whereas it will be necessary for the railroad to be built by Wi111amrMainland and his associated and assigns under Franchise No. 203, duly passed on the "h day of November. 1811, that it will be necessary for the care thereof to main- tain a high rate of speed along Cleveland Boulevard from Indiana Avenue to the southeast Orly city limits, and whereas the grantees of said franchise have procured a 21 -foot private right -of -way contiguous to the southwesterly aide of said Oleveland Boulevard, it is hereby ordered that the center line between rails of the track of said railway ,hall be parallel with and 2 feet northeast, dy from the southwesterly` side of said Cleveland Boulevard between said points, an� right - - wag lsn said gJetreland Boulevard from the southeasterly aide cf Indiand Avenue to the mouth city limits, shall be 12 feet along the southwesterly side of said Cleveland Boulevard from the easterly side of Indiana Avenue to the south city limtts, and in order for further protection and public safety, the grantees of said franchise are hereby ordered to erect and main - tain.along said Cleveland Boulevard from the southeasterly side of Indiana Avenue to south city limits a suitable steel fence with poets properly painted and erected in s fitat class workmanlike manner". J 0 J i J J r r The building committee reported that Mr. Gowen should be allowed to connect his residence premises with the Sewer District No. 3, at the alley on Twelfth Avenue between Dearborn abd Everett streets under the supervision of the superintendent of sewers; that the permission begranted temporarily until such time as the sewers are extended into that seetion.of the city.. Voted, on motion of Steunenberg, that the r• of the committee be approved. The matter of purchasing land for a dumping ground for the city's refuse and offal, was, on motion of Zeh, referred to the street committee to advertise for proposi- tions to be opened at the next regular meeting. The matter of paying the Pioneer Irrigation District taxes; and the city's special assessments were referred to the finance committee. Voted, on motion of Walker, that co9ncil adjourn. City Clerk. � v
