E.• Burrell, Adol; Eggers, Ernest Weick, J. M. Bettis. Absents L. P. Eldredge. Application for Card & Pool License was-read from the Waldorf Cigar Store, the fee aecompanyin€ the application. Moved by Weick, seconded by Burrell that this license be granted. Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. The Mayor informed the Council this vas the time set by notice for bearing protests against the closing of a portion of Indiana Avenue and Fourteenth Avenue. There were no protests filed. Thereupon Cousailman Bettis introduced Bill No. 12, ealtitleds AN ORDINANCE RECITING THE PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 815; DETEIMINING THAT NO OBJECTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE AND FILED TO THE VACATION OF THOSE PORTIONS OF INDIANA AND FOURTEENTH AVENUES CROSSING U. S. HIGHWAY NO. 20; DETERMINING THAT THE VACATION OF THOSE PORTIONS OF INDIANA ATEME AND FOURTEENTH AVENUE AS PLATTED IN HOFF ADDITION N0. 1 TO THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO AS THEY CROSS THE RIGHT OF WAY FOR U. S. HIGHWAY NO. 20 IS TO THE BEST INTEREST AND ADVANTAGE OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, ITS CITIZENS AND PROPERTY OWNERS; DETERMINING THAT NO DAMAGE WILL BE SUSTAINED 1D' ANY CITIZEN OR PROPERTY OWNER BY REASON OF VACATION OF SAID PORTIONS OF INDIANA AVENUE AND FOURTEENTH AVENUE AS PLATTED IN HOFF ADDITION NO. 1 AS TO THOSE PORTIONS OF SAID AVENUES AS THEY CROSS THE RIGHT OF WAY OF U. S. HIGHWAY NO. 20; PROVIDING THAT THE TITLE TO INDYANA AVENUE AND FOURTEENTH AVENUE AS PLATTED IN HOFF ADDITION NO. 1 TO THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO AS TO THOSE PORTIONS OF SAID AVENUES AS THEY CROSS THE RIGBT OF WAY OF U. S. HIGHWAY No. 20 AS VACATED, SHALL REMT TO THE PERSONS DEDICATING THE SAME, THEIR SUCCESSORS, HEIRS OR ASSIGNS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF CRDINANCES IN CONFLICT AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND ITS TAKING EFFECT. which -sea read for the first time and the Council proceeded to a consideration of Bill No. 12. It was moved by Councilman Blomquist, seconded by Councilman Burrell that the rules requiring that the reading of a Bill on three separate days be suspended and Bill No. 12, be read the second time by title and the third time in full section by section and placed on the final passage. The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the Roll on the above question with the following result: Those voting in the affirmative ware1 Blomquist, Burrell, Eggers, Weick and Bettis. Negative. None. Absent and not voting. Eldredge. The Mayor declared the motion had passed by the necessary three - fourths majority and directed the Clerk to read Bill No. 12, the second time by title and the third time in full section by section. The Clerk read the Bill as directed. The question being\eShall Bill Me. 12 pass?" The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the above question which resulted as follows: Those voting in the affirmative were; Blomquist, Burrell, Eggers, Weick and Bettis. Negative: None. Absent and not votingl Eldredge. Thereupon the Mayor declared Bill No. 12, had passed and the Mayor in open session of the Council duly signed and approved the Bill, and the Clerk duly signed and aAtested the same thich became Ordinance No. 818. The Mayor directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No. 818, to be published in the Caldwell News - Tribune the official newspaper of the City of The Council met pursuant to call and acknowledgment of Notice in the following form: CALL & ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF NOTICE We the undersigned Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, do each hereby acknowledge notice of a special meeting of said City Council to be held at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho at the hour of 8100 P. M. on the 16th day of November, 1953, for the transaction of all business in connection with the following object: Hearing protests to the closing of a portion of Indiana Avenue and Fourteenth Avenue, which object was aub- mitted to each of the undersigned in writing. I �I F Moved by Eggers, seconded by Burrell that Don Baird, Building Inspector, be authorised to attend the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference to be held at Pullman Washington, December 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Motion carried, A report on sanitary conditions was made by C. J. Hammond, Deputy Sanitary Inspector for the month of October. Moved by Blomquist, seconded by Burrell that the Mayor and Councilman Bettis attend the American )dunicipal Association Congress to be held at New Orleans, Louisiana,November 29th, thru December 2nd. ,Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. Pete Hammons of the King Brown Gardens was present and petitioned the Council to open Main Street between 14th and 15th Avenues. This matter was referred to Councilman Bettis. „ There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Blomquist, seconded by Councilman. Motion carried. v Mayo' City Clerk. COUNCIL CHAMBERS December 7th, 1953 8200 P.M. The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of. the City Hall, with the Mayor Jason C. Smith presiding. Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present, Fran Blomquist, L. E. Burrell, Adolph Eggers, Ernest Weick, J. M. Bettis and L. P. Eldredge. Absent. None. The Bills for November were read and on motion by Blomquist, 'seconded by Eggers that these Bills be allowed,and warrants ordered drawn for the various amounts all of which had been approved by the Finance Committee.
