SPECIAL MEETING
November 13, 1989
12:00 Noon
The Meeting was called to order by Mayor Peter B. Cowles.
The Roll of the City Council was called with the following
members present: Raymond, Winder, Houchins, Mallea, Jarboe,
and Straight. Absent: none.
(CANVASS THE VOTES FOR THE CITY ELECTION)
The Mayor explained that the purpose of the Special Meeting -
was for the official canvass of the votes for the Municipal
Election held on November 7, 1989, for Mayor and three seats
on the City Council. The City has an agreement with the
Canyon County Election Board to tabulate the vote and their
computer sheet reported the count. Mayor further stated that
the City has nine precincts, registered voters numbering
8,275, ballots cast was 3,502 making a 42.32 percent voting
in this election. The returned were presented as follows:
For Mayor -
James R. Dakan 2,033 58.84%
John W. Pilote 1,422 41.16%
For City Council -
Mario R. Hernandez
1,882
19.14%
Pat Mallea
1,606
16.33%
John W. Murdoch
2,985
30.36%
Garret Nancolas
2,368
24.080
James J. Trieb
991
10.08%
MOVED by Winder, SECONDED by Straight that the City Council
accept the final vote on the Municipal Election held on --
November 7, 1989, and consider the votes canvassed.
MOTION CARRIED
There being no further business, the Meeting was adjourned at
12:05 p.m.
