The Mayor requests the City Attorney to file wit}; tl:e City Council a written
Opinion as th# the City's liaility to a refund on the uney -pired saloonrlicenses.
A motion was made by Farrar that the Mayor appoint a corirnittee of t to noti-
fy W. R. Sebree that the City Council will not change existing franchises.

November 8, 1909. Council met in regular session pursuant to adjournment
with Mayor Gowen, presiding, and Councilmen Cl. ark, revers, Gartin, Paynter, present;
Sharb, Clerk.
A motion was made by Claris that the motion of Farrar {carried over from last
meeting) be laid on the table. The roll beinL called on the motion, the vote re-
suited:
Ayes -- Olark, Dever 9, Gartin, Paynter - -4.
Nays - -O. Absent -- Farrar, Gipson - -8. So the motion Prevailed,
Petition of Wilson Leiser, et al, rra }jnlr the Council "To i ;rrde the pavements

Councilman Farrar enters during consideration Of petition.
A motion was made by Farrar that; the petition be re; °erred to the Street aom-
mittee and the City Engineer. Devers made a motion amending the motion to include
the Whole council. The roll being called on the amendment the vote resulted:
Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Gartin, Paynter - -4.
Nays -- Farrar. Absent -- Gipson. 8o the amendment prasrailed.

The fol]owing telegram was presented cy Clark:

Voted, on motion of Clark, that the offer of the railroad companies be accept-
ed tiritta thanks of the C:i,tc Council.
Voted, or motion of Parrar, that tk,e contracts netween the, City of Caldwell
and the Warren Constructi Co. be executed.
Voted, on motion of Clark, that on receipt of the bond of the Warren Con-
struction Co. acceptable to the City Attorney that the City Clerk return to them
their certi'ied check.
Voted,on motion of Clark, that the Mayor 'be ai:thori .ed to advertise for
bids on the layine, of till cament sidewal;; ordered by Resolution No. 6 and not laid,
bids to be opened Monday evening, November 22, 1909.

The Mayor instructed the Sanita. y Inspector to visit the S JJage Disposal

Indian Creek.
Voted, on motion of Clark, that tl Council adjourn until Monday evening,
November 15, 1909, at 7:30 o'clock.
