Mayor Simmerman informed the Council this was the time set for receiving and opening bids on
a new station wagon for the Fire Department.

Harold Shaw discussed a proposed sign for Williamsm Furniture Co.
Moved by Council Smith, seconded by Councilman Vassar permission be granted to erect this sign,

Accepting bid of Garber Motor for stati n �a�
Fire Chief, Waldo Paddock reported back to the Council on the bids received on a station wagon
and recommended the bid of Garber Motor Co be accepted.
Moved by Councilman Finley, seconded by Councilman Smith the bid of Garber Motor Co be accepted.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
Sorinkling systems for new rfolf coairse.
Two types of sprinkling systems for the new golf course were brought up for discussion.
No 1. A single line cast iron manual operated system.
No. 2. Two line system, asbestos concrete smaller head with more sorinklers,.operating on a
time clock basis.
The City Engineer recommended the two line system.
Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman Vassar both systems be approved and the Golf
Association be authorized to make the decision on the system.
Upon Roll Call it aoneared the motion was unanimously carried,

Library Boaird (appointment of Mrs. Robert Wall r)
Mayor Simmerman announced the appointement of Mrs. Robert Walker as a member of the Library
Board to fill out the unexpired term of Dr. E. L. Munn.
Moved by Councilman Shorb, seconded by Councilman Finley this appointment be con °irmed.

Renewal of Street Lighting, Contract was discussed by the Mayor and Council.
Whereupon Co Finley presented the following Resolution and moved the adoption thereof,
which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Vassar.

"WHEP ?AS, There is now before this body for action a form of street lirhtlne contract with Idaho
Power Comnany, and said pronosed contract has received the careful consideration of this body, and it is
believed that it is for the beat interests of this municipality that such contract tie executed and entered
into;
NOW, TH?REFORE, the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed, in his official capacity, to execute
said contract in duplicate, and the Clerk is authorized and directed to affix the corporate seal of this
mnnicinality to eacy of said duplicates of said contract and to attest and certify the same, and upon full
execution thereof, to deliher one of said duplicates to the Idaho Power Company, and to retain the other
as a part of the records of her office."
Upon Roll Call those voting in the affirmative were: Vassar, Smith, Luby, Shorb, Eldredge and

Dear Sir:
The rem:lar monthly meeting of the Caldwell Planning Commission was held in the
Council Ch ?tubers of the City Hall on October yl, 1960.
In order to bring about a. more orderly development of streets in the area south-
east of the city encompassed by Cleveland Boulevard, the city limits and the Union
Pacific Railroad a resolution eras passed by th- Planning Commission to recommend to
the City Council that Plain street, Arthur Street and Blaine Street be projected
southeasterly to the City Limits.
A motion was passed by the Cit- Planning Commission to recommend to the City
Council that the plat known as Nichol- Farwell Addition be accepted by the city
with minor modifications that may be recommended by the, mayor.
A notion was passed by the City Planning Commission too-commend to the City
Council that, a nlat knawh as a Renlat of Vermaas ` be accented by the City
with the stinulation that, utility easements be granted to the city to meet the re-
quirements of the city asdesignsted by the City r,nein =er.
A motion was massed h- the City Planning Commission to recommend to the City
Council that the plat known as Terrace Addition be accented by the city.

Preliminary Plats Nicol - Farwell Sub- D'vision- Terrace Addition- Vermaas Additin
A preliminary plat of Nicol - Farwell Sub- deai.sion was presented for Council consideration.
The City Eng stated before the City could ar.ept this plat right -of -way for two unnamed
streets should be acpuired and also recommendations of Planning Commission for annexation should be re-
ceived as this property is outside the rity limits.
A preliminary nlat of Terrace Addition was presented for Council approval.
A preliminary plat of Vermnas Addition was presented for Council approval.
Moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilm an Shorb this plat be approved subject to the
recommendation of the Planning Commission and the recommendation of the City Enginner regarding the size
of lots 22 through 27.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion o-ras unanimous y carried.
Mayor Simmerman reported the Council was to meet with the State Highway Board November 10.
Pool & Car License
.Application for Pool & Car License was read from Roy's Sport Shop, the fee accompanying the
apoli cation.
Moved by Councilman Shorb, seconded by Councilman Vassar this license be approved.
Upon Roll Call it ano=_ared the motion was unanimously carried.
The Bills for October were read and on motion by Councilman Vassar, seconded by Councilman
Eldredge these bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the various amounts, all of which have been
approved by the Finance Committee. Motion carried.
