HomeMy WebLinkAbout1938-11-07city council minuteswhich to regulate the establishment of amusement halls, dance halls, community buildings, assembly halls or auditoriums within the City of Caldwell, - providing for a hearing before the Board of Adjustment before their establishment, and providing for filing a petition with the Building Inspector of the City of Caldwell, Reference to which said report and recommendation on f Ile in the Office of the City Clerk for complete statement of said re- port and recommendation is hereby made. "NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a public hearing shall b e held at the C ouncil Chambers in the City H of the City of Caldwell, Canyon, Idaho, on the 14th day of November, 1938, at 8 o'clock P. M., before the adoption of such proposed amendments as contained in said recommendation and rpport, when and where any person or persons interested may appear be- fore the Mayor and Council and object to such amendments or make such. suggestions a may be meet and proper in the premises. "IN WITNESS 11HERROF, I have hereunto set my hand as Clerk of the City of Caldwell as directed by order and resolution of the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell. "DATED: This 17th day of October, 1936. _ 11 0. E. Fr City Clerk." A "yea and "no" vote was had thereon with the following results: "YES ": Oakes, Mumford, Babcock and Fenrich. "NO": None . ftbsent and not voting :" Boynton and Hinds. Thereupon the Mayordeclared the motion carried and the Resolution duly adopted. There being no further business to come before the L 'ouncil, it was moved by Fen - rich, seconded by Mumford that Council adjourn. Motion carried. City Clerk. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, NOVEMBER 7, 1938. 8 :00 P. M. The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City CounaIl met in the Council Room of the City Hall, with the Mayor, W. R. Hollingsworth, presiding. On Roll Call the follrnving Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, F. D. Kumford, W. E. Babcock, G. M' Fenrich and Norvil T. Hinds, Abdent: W.S. Boynton. The Minutes of October 3rd., 17th., were read and approved as read. Willard Robinson, L. A. Williams and L. E. Burrell appeared before the Mayor and 3ouncil and asked the City to gravel North Indiana Avenue on Canyon Hill. This matter was referred to the Street Committee. The Bills for October were read ad on motion by Mumford, seconded by nabcock that these Bills be allowed and P'arrants be ordered drawn for the marious amounts all of Rhich had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. P. A. Workers during inter- missions when they were not working. It is the opinion of the City Attorney that under the facts stated the City was not at all responsible for the injury. Moved by Babcock, seconded by Fenrich that the resignation of W. S. Boynton here r tofore filed be accepted, which motion was carried. The Mayor then appointed Mr. H arvey Odle, as Councilman, for the second ward , Moved by Mumford, seconded by Penrich, that this appointment be confirmed A Yea and Nay vote was had thereon with the following result: Yea: Oakes, Mumford, Fenrich, Babcock and Hinds, Nay: None. Absent and not voting: Boynton. Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the appointment confirmed. Moved by Oakes, seconded by Hinds that the claim of Victor Bernasconi be dis- A llowed.
