deport of Auditors.
The report of the auditors on the result of the audit of the books of City Clerk,
Treasurer and Superiatendent of Water Works for a period covering from May let., 1915
to May 1st., 1917, was read.
It wag voted on motion of Councilman Mitchell, seconded Councilman Amos J.
Miller that the report be referred to the Finance Committee of the City Council for
investigation and recommendation.
Fire and Building Committee authorized to retint Piro Rooms.
It was voted upon motion of Councilman Sanberg, that the Fire and Building
Committee be authorized and requested to have those rooms in the City Hall occupied by
Fire Chief and Members of Fire Department, retinted at an estimated coat of $21.00.
Additional vault room, City Clerk.
On motion of Councilman Amos J. Miller, the Fire and Building Committee wag
requested' to investigate and report on the matter of enlarging the vault for,reoorda of
Clerk's office and on as curing adequate facilities for the keeping of records of the
City Treasurer and Supt of Water Works.

Adjornment.
It was voted on motion of Councilman Ward, that Council adjorn.

Council Chamber, City of Caldwell, Idaho, November 5th., 1917.
Council moot in regular session, with ].Iayor E. H. Plowhead, presiding,
present Councilmen F. a. Miller, Mitchell, Sanberg and 4ard, City Clerk S. Ben Dunlap,
when the following business was transacted:
Bequest of C. J. Martin, Extension Water MaIns.
Mr. C. J. Martin requested that the water mains be extended to his place
on Speedway and Ash Streets. Request referred to water comc:ittee.
Griffiths Ditch, Elgin Street.
Mr. 17. M. Mark complained of condition of Griffiths ditch adjoining his
property on Kimbell Avenue anti Elgin Street, stating that was too small for use to
which it was put and had filled up with weeds and other rubbish. Upon motion of Mitchell,
matter referred to Street Committee with power to act.
Sebree Building, Belmont Street.
Mr. H. M. Steetle requested that the building adjoining his premiseg on
Belmont Street and which had been partly destroyed by fire, be ordered removed because
of fire menace to his buildings.
It was voted motion of Sanberg seconded i'ard that the owner be notified to
clean up the premises.

Request Dixon, installation ,J ty water.
Mr. D. E. Dixon requested that City water be installed on his promisee in
lountain View Addition, two blocks north of R. E. Glenn residence. Request referred,to
Water Committee.

The minutes of the meetings held October 1st. ath and 22nd respectively,
were read and approved.

Reports of Officers.
The reports of the following officers for the month of October, 1917, were
read and on motion of 11itchell approved and ordered placed on file City Librarian, Fire
Chief, Superintendent of Streets, Superintendent of Water Works, City Treasurer, Sexton
Police Judge, Chief of Police and City Clerk.
Reconmondations Fire Chief.
Recommendations in report of ?ire Chief, above mentioned, relative following
matters, were referred to following named committees.
Weeds on Block between Arthur and Blain and Ninth and'Tenth -to Street
Commissioner.
Hydrant at Union Stock Yarde -to Fire Committee.
Communication from Insurance Commissioner. !.
Communication from Insurance ,'Sanger under date October 3oth., 1917, relative
Workmen's Compensation Law, was referred to City Clerk for attention.
Second reading Bill !do. 10 -Sewer Ordinance.
Bill No. 10, by Sewer Committee, entitled, "An ordinance confirming and
approving the assessment roll certified by the Committee on Streets and sewer committee
of Local Lateral Sewerage Improvement District No. 6 %ate, was read the second time.
Bills allowed.
The following bills which had been O.K'd by the Finance Committee were read.
It was voted on motion of P. it. Miller, that the same be allowed and that the City Clerk
be and hereby is instructed to draw warrants on the various funds in payment of the same
as follows;

Bill of Zoberson. damages- referred to City Attorney.
The bill of B. C. Roberson and Emaline Soberson, in the sum of $5300.00
damages, was read and referred to the City Attorney.
Enlargement of vault referred to Mitchell and . Diller.
On motion of ward, the matter of enlarging the vault in the City Clerk's
III office and securing facilities, for the records of City Treasurer and Superintendent of
Water :Yorks was referred to Councilman Uitchell and F. R. Diller, with povier to act.
Lights -'anyon Hill- referred to Sanberg.
The matter of electric street light on top of Canyon Hill was referred to
Councilman Sanberg for information as to cost of same.
Plowhead vacates chair to President Ward.
At this time Mayor Plowhead was excused from the meeting and President of the
Council W. Grant "ard was called to the chair.
Adjornment.
Upon motion of Sanberg, Council adjorned until Monday evening November 12th.,

Council meet in regular session, pursuant to adjornment, with Mayor E. H.
Plowhead presiding, present, Councilmen Dickens, Amos J. Diller, iltchell and Sanberg,
City Clerk S. Ben Dunlap, when the following business was transacted:
Extension of ;dater mains to Union stock Yards.
The matter of extending water mains from corner 22nd Avenue and Blain Street,
north on 2Cnd to Union Stoc)r Yards was referred to City 'Engineer and Superintendent of
Water works for investigation as to cost. lieport was requested for next meeting.
I E Passage Bi1L No. 9 -Fire and building ordinance.
Bill Ida. 9, by the Fire Oommittee, entitled, "An ordinance establishing fire
limits, regulating the conatraotion, alteration, repair and equipment of buildings, the
disposal of rubbish, and the storage of gasoline and other products of petrolbum and
providing for the inspection of buildings and chimneys within the city of Caldwell, Idaho,
and prescribing penalties for the violation of this ordinance; and repealing ordinances
numbered 12, approved 114roh 27, 1901, Ordinance iio. 109, and Ordinance No. 228, approved
December 26, 1912," having been read for the third time on the d2nd day of October, 1917,
was presented for final notion.
Councilman Ditcholl moved the passage of Bill No. 9, motion seconded by
Councilman Dic'rens. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted:
Ayes- Diet-ens. Amos J. Diller, Mitchell, Sanberg -4.
Nayes -None.

` Street lamps to be installed.
It was voted on motion of Sanberg, seconded Mitchell that street lamps be
ordered installed at the following named places:

Canyon Hill Pump Station.
Top of grade on Canyon Hill and cornet 18th and Everett Strest.
