Absent end not voting: Hollingswort : hereupon the Mayor (declared said motion carried. Chief of Police, 0. G.Boyd, informed the Mayor mid Council that Tim Bales was viol t- ang the Sanitary Ordinance and asked permission to close the building at 619 Main. The Mayor appointed the Chief of Police and the City Attorney to look into this natter. There being no further business to come before the Council, it was, on motion my seconded and carried, declared adjourned. Mayor City Clerk COUNCIL CHAMBERS, NOVEMBER 4, 1935. 8:00 P. M. The Regular Nlonthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the City Hall, with the following Councilmen present: Edgar L. Oakes, F. D. Mumfotd,'W. S. Boynton, G. W, Montgomery, G. M. Fenrich and W. R. Hollingsworth. Absent: Mayor E. L. Vassar. Due to the absence of the Mayor, Councilmen Edgar L. Oakes,•as President of the Council,presided. The Minutes of October 7th., and 14th., were read and approved as read. ' Mr. laid Mrs. Carlson appeared before the Council regarding the can e-l- lation of taxes on Lots 21-22-23 and 24, Block 8, Dorman's Addition. The Mayor appointed a Committee composed of Councilman Mumford and the City Cler to investigate the amount of taxes to be cancelled and to report at the next regular meet- ing of the Council. The City Clerk read an affidavit of publication. An application for Card Room License was read from F. M. Wilson, the fee ac-_ •.- companying the application. Moved by Montgomery, seconded by Hollingsworth that this application be granted{ { Motion carried. The Bills for October were read and on motion made by Mumford, seconded by Fen - rich that these bills be allowed and Warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts all of which had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Acting Mayor and President of the ounoil i i gity COUNCIL CHAMBERS, NOVEMBER 7, 1935. 8:00 B. M. The Council met on call of the President of the Council, due to the absence of he Mayor. On Boll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, F.D. ,umford, W.S.Boynton, G. W. Montgomery, G. M. Fenrich and W.R. Hollingsworth. Absent: Iayor E. L. Vassar. The Acting Mayor, Edgar L. Oakes, informed the Council that this meeting was alled to accept the fire truck' heretofore purchased. Fire Chief, Doyle Fender, informed the Mayor and Council that the fire truck had e ®n thoroughly tested and approved by the Bureau of Fire Insurance Underwriters for this istrict. Thereupon the Acting Mayor presented to the Council a resolution for its consid- 3ration, authorizing the purchase of the fire truck. The resolution was duly considered by the Council whereupon it was moved by Hollingsworth, seconded by Montgomery that the re- solution be passed and adopted, said resolution being as follows, to -wit: RESOLUTION NO. 12- WHEREAS, The American-Le France and Foamite Corporation through the Northwest Machinery Company have delivered to the City of Caldwell, pursuant to the contract entered into with the City of Caldwell on August 19, 1935, for the sal a and purchase of one Scout Five Hundred Gallon Pumper, said machine, subject to the terms and conditions of said contract; and WHEREAS, the said American- LaFrance and Foamite Corporation have fully comrlled with the said contract and that said machine was delivered in accordance with the speci- fications of said contract; and os.
