Council Chambers, City of Caldwell, Monday evening, November 1, 1909. Coun-
cil met in regular session with Mayor J. B. Gowen, presiding, and Councilmen Elnar A,
Clark, M. J. Devers, R. rarrar, J. C. Caartin, .Jas. H. Gipson, and I. hr. Paynter, pres-
ent; C. J. Shorb, Clerk, when tie following business was transacted:

Minutes of the regular and adjourned meeting held in October were read and
Reports of Treasurer, Sanitary Inspector, Librarian, Weed Cutting Foreman,
City Clerk, Sexton, Superintendent of Water Norks and Sewers, Superintendent of Streets,
Aarshal, were read and on motl.on of Gipson, accepted and ordered filed.
The following claims were read, and on motion of Gipson allowed, and warrants
ordered drawn on the several funds as follolws:

Voted, on motion of Clark, that �! "30.00 be transferred from the General to the
Sct,00l Fund.
Voted, on motion of Farrar, that the Clain; of the Caldwell Clothing Co., in
the stxn of x'1:5.00 for two pairs rubber boots rejected at the last regular meeting be
reconsidered and a v-varrant, be drawn on the 77ater Works Fund for the ankount.
Claims of IN. T. Sterling for �'"2 and E', E. Bequeath for ykl for cleaning up a
certain property on order of the Sanitary :Inspector be allowed on the General Fund.
Petition of L. W. Botkin et al, 7;raying that the City Council do all in its
roarer to bring about regular punctual half hour service on the Boise Interurban from
their Oaldweli station to their terminus on Washington F[eigh,ts and return was read.
Voted, on notion of Gipson, that the city clerk be instructed to notify the Boise and
Interurban that it is the sense of this council that it maintain a hourly service on
the Boulevardthroug_ out the day- -From 8 a. m, to 9:30 P. rri. The roll. being called
on the motion, the vote resulted-

The following application of the Idaho Pleat Co. was granted on motion of
Gipson:

The Mayor requests the City Attorney to file with t1le City Council a written
opinicn as th# the City's I.iaility to a refund on the unexpired saloonr:Iicenses.
A motion was made by Farrar that the Mayor appoint a committee of two to noti-
fy W. R. Sebree that the City Council will not change existing franchises.
A motion w as m ade by Devers that the motion of Farrar's be tabled. The
roll being called on the tabling of the Farrar motion, the vote resulted:
Ayes-- Devers, Paynter - -2,
Plays -- Clark, Farrar, Gartin, Gipson - -4. So the motion was not tabled.
A motion was made by Gipson that the ("our_cil adjourn anti]. Monday November B,
1909, at 7:30 P. m. The roll being called on the motion, ,Y!e vote resulted:
Ayes--r)evers, Farrar, Gartin, Cipson - -di.
Plays -- Clark, Paynter - -2. So the motion prevailed.

November 8, 1909. Council met in regular session pursuant to adjournment
with Pliayor Govien, presiding, and Councilmen Clark, Devers, Gartin, Paynter', present;
Shorb, Clerk.

A motion was made by 01ark that, the motion of Farrar ',carried over :from last
meeting) be laid on the table. The roll being; cal -led on thee motion, the vote re-
sulted:
Ayes -- Clark, nevus, Gartin, Paynter - -4.
Nays - -O. Absent -- Farrar, Gipson - -2. So the motion prevailed.
Petition of Wilson Leiser, et al, praying the Council "To the pavements
on both sides of the Boulevard so that tlie a_rade of 11th Street crossing shall conform

to the natural grade of the land of the 9 street," Has read.
Councilman I+arrar enters during consideration B.B petition.
A motion was made by Farrar that the petition be referred to the Street ®om.-
mittee and the City Engineer. Devers made a MOtion aWaILding the motion to include

the whole council. The roll being called on the aroendmeny the vote resulted:
Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Gartin, Paynter - -1.
Nays -- Farrar. Absent -- Gipson. So the amendment prevailed.
The motion as amended was ti:en pul; and the roll being called, on the same, `s
vote resulted:
Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Paynter--5.
