maintained at its present locatiom and be renovated until such time that the I I I `
i t Rodeo Board can afford to build a new arena.
Our group is very grateful to the Caldwell Night Rodeo Hoard as we feel that
!I we have developed the Canyon County Sheriff's Posse to one of the finest groups '
of this type in the Northwest also feel that it has been a credit to Caldwell —
Ii and Canyon County, but we could not have accomplished our recognition if it
had not been for the use of the Caldwell Rodeo Grounds.
I Iftha rodeo should be discontinued, -it would certainly work a hardship on our
group as we would not have a facilutated olace where we could practice, and I
I II if we cannot practice our drills, our -roup will automatically lose a great I
percentage of its usefulness.
Also, we feel that the use of the Arena by the Junior Riding Club is very im-
portant to the young people of Caldwell and surrounding area as a recreational
II program. I
Therefore, we urge you to give serious consideration in this matter as the Arena VIII
has many other uses besides the rodeo.
II
Very truly yours II

The following letter was readfrom Don Baird, Building Inspector:
November 5, 1958.
To the Iisyor and Members of the City Council
May I bank you for your approval of the attendance of myself and Mrs. Baird
at the recent Annual Meeting of the International Conference of Building Officials
at Sun Valley, the early part of October.
In our capacity as officers of the host chapter for the meeting, I feel confident'
that we can say that the nearly 350 people present there went back home with a favor- I
ablq c?im on of Idaho and, at least, an awareness of the friendliness to be"found in
a town called "Caldwell."
Personally, I feel that I benefited a :reatdaal from the experience and the ac-
quaintancest:ips I mane at the meeting. I think Mayor Simmsrman and Mayor Leupp of.
Nampa will confirm the fact that the gathering was high calibre and serious- minded
meeting of building officials of exceptional quality and with "worlds
beh of experience"
innd them.
