Council met ir. ;regular session lyursiisnt to adjournment I with Yayor Gowdn, presiding, and Councilmen C_arh, Devers Farrar, Gartin. Gipson, Paynter, present, Shorb, Clerk. The following resolution was introduced by Gipson: It appearing that the bid of the Warren Construction Company, of Portland, Oregon, fox the paving of certain streets and alleys in the City of Caldwell, according l to the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk, is the lowest 1 , and best bid therefor, it is hereby � "Ordered and directed that the said bid b0l abeapted, and the City Attorney � instructed to prepare a contract between said City and said Warren Construction Com- pany, for said work, in compliance with the plans and specifications, and that it be I provided in said contract that said warren Construction Company shall receive., as com- pensation for paving said streets, except the i.ntersecbions, the bonds provided by law to be issued in payment of the frontage pavement. Said bonds to bear interest at the rate of seven per cent pera.nnum. Said contract shall furtl er provide that it shall be T; t' o Tonal w' .. with said City t, 'I 1 o pay for said paving in bonds as above provided, or that the City may cash, as it mh choose. Voted, on motion of Farrar, that the SWLtt(r of watering tine cemetery be re- considered. A motion was made by Farrar that the Cemetery Conmiittee Ue authorized to proceed at once to extend the viater mains of ti,e mater works s _l to the cemetery, including a standpipe at ti)e reservoir.
