SPECIAL MEETING WORKSHOP
OCTOBER 20, 2009

Mayor Nancolas called the meeting to order.
Council Members present: Blacker, Oates, Hopper, Callsen, and Dakan.
Council Members absent: Sobba.
Staff Members present: Larry Osgood.
Guests present: Gerald Wolff, President of GALS, Don Atkinson, Board Member, Marilyn Wolff,
Secretary- Treasurer, Todd Lane, Vice - President, Falen LaBlanc, President of IWFL, and Jennifer Brown,
Vice - President of IWFL.
(ITEMS OUTLINED)
• Proposed Gal's Quad Completion at Pipe Dream Park.
(DISCUSSION)
• The Mayor gave a brief history of construction of the Quad area at Pipe Dream Park.
• Handouts were distributed by presenters explaining the possible design of the needed
restroom/concession stand at Pipe Dream Park in the Quad area and the vital need for the facility.
• Mr. Wolff and Mr. Atkinson reported that the park is not eligible to host GALS or IWFL State
Tournaments since there are no permanent restroom facilities for the participants.
• All guests commented on the exceptional playing conditions of the field.
• Mr. Atkinson presented information concerning the proposed cost of the concession/restroom
complex.
• It was noted that the average tournament attendance is 3,000 individuals.
(RECOMMENDATIONS)
• Place item on the City Council agenda to discuss the proposed complex and potential partnership
with GALS concerning construction of the complex.
No decisions were made or action taken at this workshop.
