The Council met pursuant to call and acknowledgment of notice in the following form: CALL AND ACKNOWLEDGK OF NOTICE Lire, the undersigned Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, do each hereby acknowledge notice of a special meeting of the said City Council, to be held in the Council Chambers In the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, at the hour o.f 5:00 o'clock on the 19th day of October, 1860, fortransaction of all business in cornection with the following object: Approval of an Order Confirm- ing and Approving the Assessment Roll in Local Iprovemant District No. 48, which oh_! act was presented to each of the undersigned in wr it' ng,�?7 4,'ITNESS our signatures this 19th,;day of October, 19 M ayor 1 �", A �) � �L_ Councilman Ran Councilman councilmap l Cc i man Councilman Mayor Ed Simrerman presiding, Unon Roll Call the following Councilman answered pro= nt; E. Thereupon the following order as made an entered by unanimous vote of the Council. L. I. D. No. 48 ORDER AN ORDER CONF7RMING AND APPROVING TH- AS. >E33M?NT POLL IN LOCAL IMPROV114ENT DISTRICT 1q0. U OF THE I CITY OP CALDWELL, IDAHO. The Committee on Streets of the City of Caldwell, together with the City Engineer of said City of Caldwell, has heretofore certified and submitted to the Ma ^or and Council, the Assessment Roll of Local Im- provement No. L8 of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, and it annearing that the assessment roll was received in the offica of the City Clerk of the City of Caldwell, at 8 O'clock on the 3rd day of October, 1960; and that said Assessment Roll is now on file in said office; And it further annearing that the Mayor and Council of the City of C,ldmell, at a meeting of said Mayor and Council, held in the City Hall or said City, on the 3rd day of October, 1960, nassed a resolution ordering said assessment roll to be placed on file in the office of the City C1=rk of the City of Cald- well, and fixing the 17th day of' October, 1960, at 8 o'clock n. M., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City of Caldwell, as the time a nd place for hearing and considering objections to said assess- ment roll; and directing the City Clerk of the said City to give due and legal notice in comoliance with the provisions of law, of the filing of said Assessment Roll in his office, the date of filing the same and the time and place at which the Council would hear and consider objections to said Assessment Roll by parties aggrieved by such assessments and the persons by whom and the time within which said objections should be filed, and further directive that said notice be published in three successive issues of The News - Tribune, adaily naner nrinted and published im the City of Caldwell, Idaho, and the official newsnaoer of the City of Caldwell; all or which more fully annears in said resolution; And it further annearing that the City Clerk of the said City gave notice of the receint of said Assessment Roll and of the time and glace fixed for hearing protests thereto, directing the time, place and manner of filing said objections; all of wliich more fully annears [y said notice, dated the ?rd day of October, 1960, and now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the Cite of Caldwell; and it further ap- pearing that said notice was oublished as directed in said resolution above mentioned, in the News- Tribune, the official newsnarer of said City, in the issues of October b. 5 and 6 1960, as more fully annears by the affidavit of nublication of said notice on file in the O'fire of the Cite Clerk of said City of Caldwell; and it further appearing that notice was duly andxegularly given in allrespects as required by law and the orders of the Mayor and Council; J 1 And it further appearing that the time for filing objections and protests having expired, and the time fixed and appointed for hearing considering such objections and protests having arrived and it further appearing that no objections or protests in writing have been filed in said matter; that several t . persons appeared and protested as to the quality of the construction and as to the regularity or validity of the assessment; and said Assessment Roll having on regularly for hearing and consideration and the same having been fully and duly considered by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, and said Assessment Roll, together with all 2 1 roceedings in making such assessments having. by said Mayor and Council been found regular, valid, correct, equitable, fair, just, proper and in all respects legal and according to the laws of the State of Idaho, and the ordinances of the City of Caldwell; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS H 'E1Y ORD RED By the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho: Section 1. That said Assessment Roll of Local Imorovement District no. L8 of the City of Caldwell Idaho, be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed; Section 2. That the City Clerk shall immediately certify and file said Assessment ' with the City Treasurer of the City of Caldwell, for collection of said assessments according to law; and that due notice of time, place and manner of making these payments contained inlaid Assessment Roll be given by said Treasurer of the City of Caldwell, in the manner provided by the L.,ws of the State of Idaho, and the or- dinances of the City of Caldwell. Thereupon the order was intered by unanimous vote of the Council. Th•re being no further business to come before the Council It was moved by Councilman Vassar, seconded by Councilman Finley that Council adjourn. Motion carried. — / Mayor. ' City Cler . M, on the 26th day of October, 1960, fortransaction of all business in connection with the Following object: Receiving and open- ing bids for Police car, which object was presemt.ed to each of the u dersigned in witting. Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: E. L. Vassar, Max Luby, Emile Shorb, L. P. Eldredge and Leland Finley. Absent ;N. E. "Coley" Smith. Police MGa3;r 4Waerman informed the Council the meeting was called to receive and open bids on a new car for the Police Department. Mayor Simmerman explained to the Council the cost of repairing the police car that was involved in an accident was so high that it seemed advisable to call for bids on a new car.
