The following letter was read from Mancy Jarvis, Librarian: October 8, 1956 Dear Mayor and City Council Members, Will you please consider my request that the City Clerk pay Library bills up to the amount of $50.00 without my having to wt signed vouchers from the publishers, jobbers, or supply houses? Although moat of the books purchased will come from one or two jobbers, we frequently find it necessary to order one or two books at a time directf rom a publisher and whenever that is dore there seems tobe -rest inconvenience to them in getting the voucher signed and back to us in time to include it with the monthly bills. I have rquested a signed voucher from Harpers three times, but only receive a reminder that the bill for $2.00 is long past due. May I sign the voucher and accompany it with the usual bill? Respectfully a Nan Jarvis Librarian This was discussed and ordered brought to the attention of the Council at the Regular Meeting ;,of Nov 5, 1956.
