Moved by Cleveland, seconded by Burrell the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the necessary
papers to amend Ordinance Number 859.
Upon Roll Gall it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
The City Clerk was instructed to notify Meek & Miller the claim filed against the City of Caldwell
by'Leslis L. Ford be denied.
.A petition was presented to the Mayor and Council by property owners petitioning the creation of
a Local Improvement L+istrict for the purpose of constructing curb and gutters and paving from the inter-
section of College Avenue and Linden Street along College Avenue to the intersection of College Avenue
Id Poplar .
This petition was referred to the City Engineer.
Request for curb cut was presented by Globe Seed Compa.ip.
This request wasvererred to tae City Engineer and Councilman Bettis with power to act.
Moved by Cleveland, seconded by Burrell reque.qt to construct private hangars near the National
Suard Building be denied.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman Shorb, seconded by Councilman Bettis that the following
lesolution be adopted.
RESOLUTION
By Councilman Shorb.
RESOLUTION CREATING THE OFFICE OF ENGINEERING ASSISTANT AND ESTABLISHING THE SALARY THEREFOR.
BE IT'RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho.
That as of September 1, 1955, there is hereby created the office of Engineering Assistant whose
duties shallbe to assist the City Engineer in his work for the City of Caldwell, and that the salary for
said office shell be the a= of $338.75.
U pon Roll Call those voting in the affirmative were. Blcmquist, Burrell, Cleveland, Shorb,
Eldredge and Bettis. Negative. None. Absent and not voting. None.
Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the Resolution adopted.
There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Bettis,
seconded by Councilman Cleveland that Council adjourn. Motion carried. _

Eldredge and J. M. Bettis. Absents L. E. Burrell, Fran Blomquist.
Also present were: City Engineer Melvin Lewis, Earl Reynolds and Robert Halverson.
The matter of forming a co- operative gas aosoci.ation was discussed.
Whereupon tentative Articles of Incorporation were referred to the City Attorney for study.
There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Eldredge
seconded by Councilman Bettis that Council adjourn. Motion carried.
