The City engineer suhmitted a special sidewalk assessment roll, containing
assessments against the property on arhicli concrete had been constructed during the
month of September, 1 ^1b, as ordered by the Council. It was voted upon motion of
Dement that the sidewalk assessment roll be and t1-e sarre hereby is confirmed, ratified
and approved.
The protest of J. IT, Shepperd again =t the order for the construction of a
curb along lot 1? of Block 50 Dever's Addition to Paldwell, was read.
Councilman Ack]_ey reported that he had received bids for tl -e printing and
binding of fifty copies of tle City Ordinances as follows: Cald -roll. Yews, one dollar
per page, Caldwell_ Tribune, one dollar per page, Caton Printers, one dollar and
twenty cents per page.
It was voted upon motion of Dement t7at t1le Clerk be instructed to codify
the ordinances and have fifty copies printed.
Tt was vo`sed upon motion of Tiarringtan that the printing of the ordiner0es
be awarded to the Caldwell Trews.
It was voted upon nation of Percent that t_:e Fire Chief be instructed to
inspect the cl-drnneys, flues, ^1notr7_c wiring and etc as required by the Ordinance
relating thereto.
Council -man rTnyman reported that Alonzo IlAtteman had offered to deliver
oats to the City as needed at t! rate of ^1.30 per cwt.
Tt was voted upon motion of I?a, that Council adjorn until Monday evening,
October 11th., 191F, at 7:30 o'clock.

Council meet in regular session pursuant to adjornment with 1.4ayor Fred C.
Boyes presiding, present, Councilmen Ackley, Dement, Hayman and Lilly, S. Ben Dunlap,
Clerk, when the following business was transacted:
The time coming on regularly for the hearing of objections by any person
or persons aggreived by the assessments levied on the sprinkling roll as prepared by
the Street Committee for the year 1415, and no objections appearing the Clerk was
Instructed to no note in the minutes.
The bill. of Charles H. Hanson in the sum of �AJ3.75 for drilling well at
Curtis Park and not 0,7 by the Finance Committee, was read.
Councilman Percent stated that the sidewalk bridge on South Yimball Street,
near the foot of the hill, erne in a dangerous condition. The matter was referred to

the Street Committee.

In the matter of the proposed droinage system for the Golden Data Addition,
City Attorney "'alters st ^ted that he had taken the matter up with the plonFor
Officials and that they would agree to drain that portion of the Golden Gate Addition
which lies outside of the Pioneer District and in the City limits, if the property
owners therein would form an improvement listriet, the payment of the said con—
struction to extend over a period of twenty years and no interest to be charged on
deferred payments. The attorney explained that the cost to tl-e district would be
,just what it actually cost to construct the system and that the work would be done
by the Government.
Councilr•an Lilly stated that the Water from the Pioneer ditches was
washing out Sem^ of the concrete work on the east end of Arthur Street, recently
constructed by order of the Pity Pouncil. 1 ?e explained that considerable damage was being
done because .gone Of the ditches were allowed to overflow and that he had taken the
matter up with the Irrigation , friciale.
It was voted upon motion of Ackley that Council ad,jorn.
