Council met in regular session- pussaaat -t9-a October 5th,1928 at 8 P,M, with Mayo Sale ?, presding, Counailmn, Dutton, 8imbrough, Mumford, MoConnel, and Wheeler, present, and Co ley, absent. . The minutes the of previous sessions were read and upon motion of MoConnel, seoond d by Wheeler, and,aooried, the same were approved. Mrs. Anna Wilmot Millie again appeared before the Mayor and Council and requested the part of the old `sight of gay of the Caldwell + raetion lying between Linden St, and Fillmore, is so graded, that temperrrily; the same might be used by the residents of Mountain View Addit on.. The some was referred to the Street Commissioner, and if he deemed the same feasible, to fix the same for temporary use. A petition Signed By Rev. R.B.Coberly, pastor of the Advent Church, and 17 others,requ sting a sidewalk along Lot 1 Block 14 College Heights Addition, and Lot 1, Block 21 College H ghts Addition, was presented, and the same was referred to the Street and Finance Committeme for further investigation. I.H. Waters, Goo. Franklin, Andrews & son, and B.J. Livesay, presented their appliae ions for Pool Hall Licenses for the ensuing three months, and upon motion of Wheeler, seoond@ by 8imbrough, and carried, the same were grant ®d. It was voted on motion of Kimbroug , seconded by Mumford, that the bid of M.E. -Curt s for 10 tons of first cutting hay at $11.60 per ton beaooepted. - R.G.Dille appeared before the Councilin the interest of the City of Caldwll usinga blanket ' form of policy, covering all city property. It was voted on motion of N¢Connel,s conded by Dutton, that the matter of placing the City Insurance be left to the MW or and Finano Committee. Bill No. 12, by McConnel,entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION FOUR OF ORDINANCE 87, i ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FIRE LIMITS, REGULATINBE THE CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATI N, REPAIR MM EQUIPMENT OF BUILDINGS, THE DISPOSAL OF RUBBISH, AND THE STORAGE OF GASOLINE AND OT R PRODUCTS OF 19TROLEUM, AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSPEOTION OF BUILDINGS AND OHIMNEYS WITHIN THE Q Ty OF CALDWELL,IDAHO, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND HE LING ORDINANCES NO. 12,AP5?ROVED MARCH 27TH,1901,09DIMCE N0. A motion was made by 8imbrough, seconded by Dutton, that the rules requiring the reading of a bill on three separate days be suspended, and the bill read the second time by title and the third time in full and placed on its final pasopge. The Mayor deoalred the bill had passed mad now became Ordinance No. 419, and directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same, and have thesame published in the Caldwell `ribune, the Official newspaper of the City of Celdwell,Idsho. Pursuant to the provisions of Chap60r 256, laws of 1921,of the State of Idaho,ae amended by Chapter 45, laws of 1925, of the '-Itate of Idaho, the amity Counoil proceeded to investigate the sufficiency of the security heretofore given by the First National Aw k of Caldwell,Idaho, and Western Commeroial Sank,of 6 aldwell,Idaho, to secure deposits belonging to the City of %ldwell. After due consideration, it appearing to the Council that such securities have been carefully investigate by the Finance Comn- ittee of said Council, who has reported that the same are suffioient to property* protect the 'funds belonging to the City of Caldwell on deposit in said banks as such depos3tdries, Councilman Mumford offered the following resolution and moved its adoption. The motion for adoption of "an elution No.9, a oopy,.of which is hereto at- taohed, was'duly seconded by Councilman, Kimbrough, and the resolution put upon its passage, the question being, "Shall Resolution No. 9 pass? theroll was called with the following result: AYES: DUTTON, KIMBROUGH, MUMFORD, MCOONM, AND WH$ELER. NAYES: NONN. ABSENT: CONLEY. WHEREupon the Mayor deoalred the Resolution had $*geed and therelpon approved theeame. Resolution No.16, by Mumford. and Resolution No. 11, by Wheeler, copies of which are hereto attached, were offered and a motion wee made by umford, seconded by Wheeler, that the two resolutions be adopted. This being the time to consider the bids for 600 feet of Fire Hose, it was voted on motion of Mumford, seconded by Conley, that the City Olerk be instruo $red to open the bids for the same. ter obneidering the bids of W.G.Oowden, Butler Hdw. Co, Eureka Fire Hose Co., and A.G. Long & o., § motion was made by Kimbrough, seconded by Wheeler, that the bid of A.G. LCng for 600 fee of hose at $1.16 per foot be accepted.
