COUNCIL CHAMBERS, GOT. 3. 1927.
8:00 P. M.
Council met in regular session with Mayor Dunlap presiding end the following
Obunoilmen present; DAvIS, DITTON, HOPE W, JAC880N, MCOONNEL AND MOMFORD. •ABSENT; NONE.
Minutes of previous meetings read and approved.
for the Kiwaaie Club
$. H. Plowhead for the Commercial Club and Anon J. Miller /appeared before the
Council, asking that the principal roads legd£ng into the City be graveled and put in good
condition before the bad weather comes on. That] were advised that the present street
work that was laid out was being pushed as fast as possible to completion, and that these
roads would have attention as soon as the Hand Department could get at the work.
Mrs. k£aabeth tine also asked that dome work be done on Ash street-.
Bird Goodwin representing the residence along Speedway presented a petition
signed by several citizens donating oertain amount of work and $100.00 in cash had been
subscribed.
The matter-of sidewalk along the 100 block on West Oleveland was referred to
Mo0onnel and City Engineer.
H. H. Hayman representing the (college of Idaho, appeared before Council,
stating that In making an exoAviti-en on the 4ollege grounds and had some available sand
for streets which they were piling in one of the streets, but be willing to sell to the
lity at a nominal price to be used an streets around the College. The Mayor appointed the
Street Qommittes and 3futton to investigate. Mr. Hayman also sake& that some action be

taken regarding the road extending on 20th street over the old Caldwell Traction Co. Right
of -Way. It was voted on notion of Mo4onnel, seconded by Jackson, that the City Attorney
draw an agreement with the 6ollege of Idaho getting permission to use roadway until ouch
time the 4ollege of Idaho should designate for their use.
This being the date of receiving bids for sale of Bonds for Local dtreet Improve
ment District No. 5, and there being no bids presented. Attorney M. H. Euataos advise&
that it was not necessary to advertise for bide in order to sell said Bonds should a
satisfactory offer be made.
It was voted on motion of Mumford, seconeded by Ddv$s, that the City Treasurer
be instructed to sell Local Street Improvement District No. 5 Bonds subject to the approv6
of the Mayor and donnoil.
It was voted on motion of Hum ford, seconded by $avis, that the following bills
as approved be allowed and warrants be drawn on the various funds for the amounts to -wit;

Grand total of all warrants drawn amount to $9,595.98.
The matter of Stop Signs for Cleveland Boulevard and Kimball Avenue was
considered by the Council. It was voted on motion of Hoffman, asoonded'by tavis, that
the matter of
the matter of Stop Signs be laid on the table for investigation.
The applioation for Pool Hall License for quarter ending Dec. 31; 1927, was
made by Goo. Franklin, I. H. Waters and G. S. Mead in their respective places of business
Esoh application was accompanied by a check of $25.00, License fee. It was voted on
motion of Hoffman, seconded by Davis, that the said License be granted, and the Clerk
directed to•iasue game.
0. O. Gurwell, Supt. of Parke reported as investigating the Tourist Park
Cabins at Nampa. Porter was asked to draw plane of a cabin that might be built to
meet the needs and present same to the Council.
It was voted on notion of Jackson, seconded by Hoffman, that'the,do not
Publish the Oounoil Proceedings as a matter of economy.
Hoffman reported for the committee on Red ®roes Rest Rooms, that quarters in
basement of the 0ommeroial Bailding could be secured by the payment of 0300.00 being
one year's rent at 025.00 per month, to be cost of making the necessary improvements.

It was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Jackson, that the proposition of the
Caldwell Stake Bank be accepted by making the necessary changes to meet the needs of
the Red Gross Headquarters and Rent Rooms, and that the City pay $300.00 to be applied
as one year's rent.
Jackson and tlity Attorney was appointed as a committee to investigate the matt
of City Pound which is now being opperated by dlaud Lnallen at the Fashion Livery Stable.
Mr. Luellen reported that he was unable to look after the Pound business under the present
plan.
It was voted na motion of Modonnel, seconded by ldomford, that the dity par the
delinquent State and dodnty Taxes on block No. 6, Now Home Addition, which is now owned
by the dity.
The City Clerk was instructed to cause notice to be published that the Irrigati
Water would be turned out of the ditohes on Ootoher..10, 1927.
It was voted on motion.of Hoffman, seconded by.Modonnel, that dounoil adjourn
to October 10, 1927, at 8:00 P. M.
APPROVED:
The Mayor appointed Mumford, dity Treasurer and dity Clerk to prepare records
for the purpose of collecting Special Improvement dity Taxes for 1927.
It was voted on motion of MoQonnel, seconded by Mumford, that the City Attorney
be instructed to,close the deal whereby the City was buying one and ane- quarter_(1 +) acres
more or less, situated between Albany and Belmont Streets and the Pennington property,
to be used as a gravel pit.

Council met in regular session persuent to adjournment of Oct., 3, 1927 with
Mayor Bunlop presiding, and the following 0omncilmen present; Avis, Vutt on, Hoffman
add Uc4onnel. Absent; JAOSSON ANH MWORD.
A letter from the Forward Olub Raking for the approval of a Board of Controle
which had been designated by said Forsard,dlub. The matter wee.defered for investigation
A letter from Annabel M., Hunt, proprietor of The Palm, protesting against the
collection of garbage by the Garbage Oontractor was read and plao,ed on file.
The Mayor announced that this was the time for consideration of objections to
Assessment Roll of Local Sprinkling 1pistriot No. 1. The flark presented to the Council
the Affidavit of Publioation of Notice of filing Assessment Roll of Local Sprinkling
District No. 1, which Affidavit was and is in words and figuree se follows. to -wit:
"AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION, STATE OF IDAHO, Oounty of Canyon, so. Fred Is Follette
being duly sworn, deposes and says_that he is Adv. Manager of the CALDWELL NEWS, a
weekly newspaper published at Oaldwell, Idaho, that the said newspaper is in general
circulation in the county storessidj and has been continuously and uninterrpptedly
published in the ooubty aforesaid more than seventy -eight (78) weeks preceding the
first publication of thle advertisement, a copy of which to attached. hereto, was
mpmblished in the regular" edition of the CALDWELL NEWS one consecutive weeks,.begin-
