COUNCIL CHAMBERS, OCTOBER,1, 1934,
6:00 P. M.
The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
City Hall, with the Mayor, Emery L. Vassar, presiding.
On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, W.S.
Boynton,.G.E.Bales, G. W. Montgomery, W.R. Hollingsworth and G. M. Fenrioh. Absent: None.
A Committee from the P. T.A. of the Van Buren and Washington Sohools, consisting
of Mrs. 4111ard Robinson, Mrs. Ancil Steunenberg, Mrs. Dean Miller, Mrs. Richard.Beatty
and Mrs. R.G. Pasley, appeared before the Council and presented Resolutions stating that
the stock and stock corrals adjacent to the schools was a menace to the health of the
pupils.
The Mayor referred the committee to the State Sanitary Inspector.
Mrs. Pasley requested the Council to place the schools in "A" Residence. Zone.
The City Attorney informed the Council that the main part of the Cemetery had
been withdrawn from the Caldwell Irrigation District.
The Bills for September were read and on motion by Boynton, seconded by Fenrich
that these bills be allowed and Warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts all of
which had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Motion carried.
