Council met -in regular session pursuant to- adjournment with Mayor Gowen presiding, and Councilmen Clark, Davers, Farrar, Harris, Paynter, pre9entp Shorb, Clerk. Bill No. 72,by the Finance Committee, entitled, "An Ordinance fixn g the amount of the annual appropriation and the.rate of levy to pay the same for the fiscal year beginning the first Tuesday in May, 1910, and levying the tax for said year ", was read tl_e first time. A motion was made by Clark that the rules be suspended and the readings on three separate dayd be dispensed with and that Bill 110, 72 be -read the second time by title and the third time in Pull and placed on its final passage. The roll being called on the motion, the vote reaultede Clark, Ayes- LDevers, Farrar, Harris, Paynter - -5. Nays - -0. Absent-- Gartin. So the motion prevailed, Bill No. 72 read second time by title. Bill N &.72 read third time in full and placed on its final passage. On the question, Shall Bill No. 72 pass? the roll being called, the vote resulted: Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Farrar, Harris, Paynter--5. Naya - -0. Absent-- Gartin. So Bill No. 72 passed, becoming Ordinance No. 188. Petition of Mrs. A. A Farts, at al, praying that street lights be placed at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Dearborn Street, Seventh Avenue and Fillmore Street, Sixth Avenue and Everett Street, Fifth Avenue and Fillmore Street, lights to be the same power as other street lights" was read, and, on motion of Clark, referred to the Third Ward Councilmen. Voted, on motion of Farrar ghat the sanitary officer or a police officer be dropped from the Police force after October 1. Voted, on motion of Clark, that the Street Committee be erypowered to emplcy F. L. Seller to clean the streets at the price paid him at present to sprinkle the . streets. Voted, on motion of Harris that Council adjourn until Tuesday evening, September 27, 1910, at 8 o'clocl Septerber 27, 1910. I I i 'I till M Voted, on motion of Farrar that the plat of the Faris Resubdivision of 135 i Blocks 25, 26, 31, 32, of Golden Gate Addition be approved. Voted, on motion of Farrar that =the minutes -of the meeting of July 18, 1910, f" be changed to read "The Mayor appointed Thos, Soule Sewer Inspector, and on motion of Farrar the appointment was confirmed. i Voted, on motion of Harris, that the minutes of July and August be approved I as corrected. i Voted, on motion of Farrar, that the surety bonds of Thos. Soule, one in the sum of $1,000.00 as Building-Inspector, and one for $1,000.00 as Sewer Inspector and both In the American Surety Company of New York City, be approved, and filed. I Voted, on motion of Farrar, that the City Clerk be instructed to notify the City Treasurer that she is to call warrants on any fund to the full amount of the money in the fund, as soon as there is $500.00 in any fund.
