The Council met on Call of the Mayor with the 14ayor, Edgar L. Oakes, presiding.
On Roil Call the following Councilmen answered present; W.E.Babcock, C. 0. Mcs
Dannel, Os_opr Stem eel, ! %q_ Handford, G. M, ?enrich and M.S.Sandmeyerr
The q "ayor informed the Council that the ATeeting was called to take up the
matter of the Ackley Contract.
Mr. Hugh Ackley and Mr. Ben Dunlap were present and discussed this matter with
the mayor and Council.
The Mayor informed Mr. Ackley that the City could not Amer into this Contract
but would accept an easement. Mr. Ackley a reed to an Easemen,

The City Council met on call of the Mayor with the Mayor, Edgar L. Oakes, presid-
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: W E. Babcock, 0. 0. Me.
pnnel', W.B. Handford, G. V. Fenrich and D4. S. Sandmeyer. Absent; Oscar Stengel.
The Mayor informed the Council that the Hleeting was called to take up new and
unfinished business.
Messrs. F. M. Brown and Joe Wilson appeared and requested the Mayor and Council
to open Idaho Street south to Hazel Street.
The Mayor informed these gentlemen that Idaho Street would be extended as soon
as needed.
The Clerk read a petition requesting the Cit,, to grade and gravel Maple Street
from Indiana Avenue to b ",ontana Avenue.
The ' Iayor appointed the Road Committee and the City Enbineer to investigate this
matter and report at the next Council ='M=eeting.
Thereupon Councilman Handford intorduced Bill No. 4_ Proposed Ordinance No 565

No. 4, Proposed Ordinance 170. 565. It was moved by McDannel, seconded by Babcock that the
rules requiring that the reading of a Bill on three separate days be suspended and that
Bill No. 4, be read the second time by title and the third time in full, section by sec-
tion and placed on its final passave, The T"ayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the
motion with the following result; Those voting In the affirmative mere; Ba'cock, MCD,nnel
Handford, Tenrich and Sandmeyer. RTe 'gative; None, Absent and not voting; stenbel.

The Mayor declared the motion had passed by the necessary threefourths majority and di-
-, rected the Clerk to read Bill No. 4, the second time by title and the third time in full,
section by section. The Clerk read the Bill as directed. The question then being- "shall
Bill AIo 4, pass? The Mayor directed the Clark to call the roll on the above question whie
resulted as follows: Those voting in the affirmative were; Babcock, McDannel, Tandf0rd,
Fenrich and Sandmeyer. Negative: TTono. Absent and not voting: Stengel.
Thereupon, the mayor declared Eill PTO 2, had passed, and the ?•Tayor in open sessio
of the Council duly signed and approved the Eill, any' the Clerk duly signed and attested
the same V became Ordinance No. 565. The Mayor directed the Clerk to make proper
entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No 565, to :e p"blished in the Caldwell Vews-Tribuxe

carried.
The Bills for September were rerd and on motion by McDpnnel, seconded by Handford
that these Bills be allowed and warrants be drawn for the various amounts all of which had
been approved by the Chairman of the *Finance Committee, Motion carried.
