Pursuant to adjournment of September, 6th., the Co;incil met in the Council Room
of the City H with the Mayor, "T.4. Hollingsworth, presiding.
On roll Cell t'^e following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, W. S.
Boynton, 1 F. Babcock, C. M. Penrich and 1^iorvil T. Binds. Absent P. D. Mumford.
Mrs. R. B. Scatterday end Mrs. John Smeed, representing the Park Commission,
appearedbsfore the Council and out -Lined the work the Commission would like to do in the
future.
Co Boynton informed the Mnyor and Council that he would give the City
some water lilies and goldfish if they would construct a lily pond.
Mrs. S. I {. Roddy, Mrs, 'N. ' -. Odle and Urs. Robt Troxell., representing the For-
ward Clu'l; appeared before Vie 7 8a 7or and C -_mail and asked 'che City of Caldwell to co-
operate wiVi t".em in the building of e. home.
The I'ayor informed the ladies that the Council would co- operate with them as
far as possible.
Emmett Garland appeared before the Mayor and Cnuncil and asked the City to
cancel sidewalk and sprinkling tares on lots 17 -18 -19 and 20, Block 7, College Heights
Addition.

Rev. and Mrs. Howard May, representing the Foursquare Gospel Church, appeared
before the Major and Council and requestod t'_ ^e City to cancel the sprinkling taxes for the
years 1931 to 1937 on Lots 22- 23 and 24 of Flock 102 Goandu Addition. This matter was
left on the table.

A Special Meeting of the City Council not in the Council Room with the Mayor,
71.:R.'Ho111nTsworth, presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, F. D.
Mumford, W. E. Babcock, G. M. Fenrich and Norvil T. Hinds. Absent: W.S.Boynton.
Fire Chief, Doyle Fender appeared before the Council and gave a very interest-
ing talk on his trip to the Pacific Coast Association of Fire Chiefs W!ich met at Salt Lake
City.
This being the time set for the second reading of Bill No 4, Proposed Ordinance
Number 554, it was moved by Fenrich, seconded b; 'ands that the Rules requiring, the read- _
ing of an Ordinance on three separate days be suspended and that Proposed Ordinance Number
554, be read the second time b; title and the third time in full, section by section, and
placed on its final passage. The Nay= directed the Cleric tocall t' -e "all on the motion
with the following results: Those voting in f aver of the motion were- Oakes, Mumford,
Fenrich, Babcock and Hinds. Those opposed: None. Absent and not voting: W. S. Boynton.
The Mayor thendeclared the motion had carried by tl,e necessary three- fourths ma}Jority and
directed the Clerk to read the Proposed Ordinance the second time by title and the third
time in full, section by section. The Clerk rend the Proposed Ordinance as 'directed. The
question thenbeing "Shall the Proposed Ordinance No. 554'pass ". The Mayor directed the
Cleric to call the Roll with the following result: Those voting in--favor were: Oakes,
Mumford, Fenrich, Babcock and Finds. Those opposed: None. Absent and not voting: Boynton
Thereupon the 'Mayor declared that the Proposed Ordinance I ?o 55-5, had passed, and the the
Mayor in open session of the Council duly sir;ned and a pproved the Ordinance, and the Clerk
duly signed and attested the same, w'�Ich became Ordinance No. 554.
The Mayor then directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same and to cause
Ordiance No 554, to be printed in the C,,ldvrell News- Tribune, the official newspaper of the
City of Caldwell, Idaho.
