An adjourned meeting of the City Council met on call of the Mayor, with the Mayor Fred L Lilly presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; M.S.Sandmeyer, A.G. Kaist C.M.Johnstou, E.L.Vassar, and Joe Dickens. The obJeot of the meeting was to complete the City Levy for the 1931 and .,1932. Mr appeared before the 0ouncilin reguards to the Taxi License, which was referredto the Finaboe Commitee and the Chief of Police. Bill No. 4 ORDINANCE No. 491 By C.E.Bales was read. It was mooned by Sandmeyer ' and seconded by Bales that rules be suspended and that Bill be read once in full,onee by Title and the third time in full . On roll call the following voted affirmative, Sandmeyer, Keister, Bales, Vassar; Dickens, and Johnston., Negative none. On the third reading all voted YES, thus passing the Bill. The Mayor declared that the bill had passed and upon being signed and approved Bill became Ordinance No 497. Clerk was directed to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance N o 497 to be published in the Caldwell News Tribune, the official newspaper of the City of Caldwell. Hugh Caldwell appeared before the Couneil,in reguaavds to thb changing the course of Indian Creek on the Burns property at the corner of Ith, street and Blaine. Council agreed, to meet on.the grounds at 9;OOA.M. Sept 15 and look the situation over. i Letter from Roy A.Neilau of Yakima Washington WakingufcW a permit or l%pense to erect a gas station at the corner of 6th and Arthur Streets was read and the Clerk was instructed to write him that this was within the fire zone, and it would be necessary for him to get a building permit and that he would be required to erect fire -proof buildings. It was mooved by Bales and seconded by Johnston, that H.D.Andrews be appointed Police Judge in the absents of Police Judge C.D.Rush. Motion Carried. Mooved by Sandmeyer and seconded by Keister that bridge over Indian Creek at Linden Street be referred to the Road Commitee with power to act, Motion carried. Mooved by Johnston and seconded by Vassal that Marr Maxwell be appointed as Special Night Police. Motion carried. Mooved by Bales and seconded by Vassal that Council adjourn, Carried. Lilly, for�ha purpose Of acting on a Resolution providing ffior the repair of eertabn sidewalks in•the City - of Caldwell. . Mayor Fred L. Lilly presiding. On Roll pall, the following Oounoilmen answered present x. S. Sandmeyer, A. G. Keister, 0. E. Bales, E. L. Vassar, and 0. M. Johnston. Absent Joe Dickens. • Dr, D. E. Baird appeared before the Counoli and presented the matter-of the Health work in the City Schools. The.Matter was taken under advisement. Whereupon, E. L. Vassar presentedf the following Resolution: RESOLUTION NO. 4 By. E. L. Vassar. A ABSOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE CONDEMNATION AND REPAIR OF CERTAIN BIDEWALKS AOOORRING TO ORDINANCE N0. 266, OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO, ALONG ANp IN FRONT OF OE$TAIN LOTS AND BLOCKS IN SAID CITY, AND PROVIDING FOR TEE PAYMENT FOR THE REPAIR OF SUCH 97ALKS BY AN ASSESSMENT LEVIED AND ASSESSED AGAINST THE PROPERTY FRONT_ ING AND ABUTTING ON SAID SIDEWALH. BE If RESOLVED By the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho: Section 1. That the sidewalk heretofore laid and now lying and being along and in front of those certain lots and blocks on those certain streets and avenues in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, as hereinafter described, is dangerous and unsafe, and that the same be and is hereby oondemmed and ordered repaired; said sidewalk being more partic- ularly described in Sidewalk Book No. 1, Pages 55 to 64 inclusive. section No. 2. That the property owners adjacent to and in front of which the said sidewalks ire to be repaired shall repair the same according to plane and specifications of the City Engineer within thirty (30) days after the publication of this Resolution, If the sidewalks are not repaired within the time hereinbefore mentioned, by the owner
