The time coming on regularly for the hearing of objections to the 1914 nuisance
assessment roll as prepared and submitted by the street conn.ittee and no objections
appearing the clerk was instructed to so note in the minutes.
Xr. J. M. Greenfield who had been employed to install in the water works office,
the system, of bookkeeping as required by the Public Utilities Commission, submitted
his report as prepared for the said cQim ission. He was tendered the thanks of the
council.
Mr. Me Gee, assistant city engineer reported that the drainage ditch constructed in
the north part of town by order by order of the council Lad been completed in a
satisfactory manner.
Councilman Parker stated ih.at he had received several complaints to the effect that
the drinking fountain at the Bungalow corner was in an unsanitary condition. It was
voted upon motion of Boone that the Police department be instructed to see that all
public drinking fountains be kept clean.
The water superintendent reported that the sprinkling department had broken several
of the valves on the sprinkling cranes. It was voted upon motion of Adams that all
valves broken in the future by the sprinkling department be charged to them.
Superintendent Campbell stated that the board platforms under the sprinkling cranes
were unsatisfactory and he advised the use of cement platforms. He was instructed to
install one cement platform as an experiment and to report the result to the council.

To the Honorable Mayor and City Council :
I Leg to report that at an election held by the Caldwell Fire Depart-
ment, Monday evening, August 10, 1914, W. E. Woodcock was elected Chief and Chas. M.
Allen was elected Assistant Chief.

It was voted upon motion of Parker that the election be approved and confirmed and
that certificates of appuintment be issued to the officers entitled.
It was voted upon motion of Ackley that council ad,jorn until Monday evening September
14, 1914, at 4e30 o'clock p, m.

Council meet in regular ad,jo ned session with Mayor C. H. Turner presiding, Councilmen
Ackley, Boone, Harrington and Parker preaent, S. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following
business was transacted :

Local Improvement Sprinkling District Number One, and no objections being raised the
Clerk was instructed to ea note in the minutes.
It was voted upon motiun of Boone that the council procaed in the regular manner to
the establishment of Local Impruvement Sprinkling District Number One.
Mr, D. L. Badlay appeared and asked to have the ordinance pruhibiting the riding of
bicycles on tLe sidewalk omended su as to allow riding on the walke in the residence
section at certain times of the day. The [natter was taken under advlaement.
It was voted upon motion of Harrington tiat Council adjurn� unttill Monday evening

Council meet in regular session pursuant to adjurnment with Mayor C, H. Turner pre-
siding, Councilman Adams, Boone, Harrington, Parker and Steunenberg present, S. Ben

The minutes of the sessions held during the month of September were dead and upon
motion of Harrington were approved.
The following bills were read and it was voted upon motiun of Parker that the same
be allowed and warrants were ordered drawn on the various funds in payment of the same
