j To the Mayor and City Council of Caldwell, Idaho,
We, the undersigned, request the City of Caldwell, Tckaho, to consider vacating the 120 foot
alley which runs through our property. The alley has nF been in use and could not continue
to another alley or street if it eger were out into use.

The Rewlar Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Rooms of the City Hall, with €
the Mayor Ed Simmerman presiding.
Upon Roll Call the follovi ng Councilmen answered present: E. L. Vassar, N. E. "Coley" Smith,
�. Smile Shorb and Leland Finley. Absent: flax Luby and L. P. Eldredge.
The Mayor announced this was the time set 'or receivinq bids on a counter machine for the General �
Office. €

Moved by Shorb, seconded by Vassar. the or the Natinn Cash Register Company be accented.
Upon Roll Call it anneared the motion was unanimously carried. �
Stanley Jensen presented a petition to the Mayor and Council petitioning the re-zcnino nr the II
following described property:
Commencing at the corner of Hazel Street and Kimball Avenue of the
City of C Idaho; thence proceeding North on Kimball Avenue
to the intersection of Kimball Avenue to the intersectio- of Kimball
Avenue and Fine Street; thence on Pine .Street to the intersection
of Pine Street and Ellis Avenue; thence South on Ellis Avenue and
Ellis Avenue extended to the intersection o` Ellis Avenue extended
to the intersection with Hazel Street as extended East from Kimball
Avenue; thence blest on what would be Hazel S + rest extended to the

This oetition was discussed by the Mavor and Co *moil. it
It was the opinion df Councilman Sharb the City would be taping a broad step if a decision was it
made by the Council before hearing from the Board of Adjustment on this netition.

City Engineer reported quit claim deeds have been received from B. 19. Kurts and Leeada J. Dawson
and recommended they be approved and recorded.

Chief of Police Judd reported sivns have been received and would be installed making Indiana
Avenue between Cleveland and tha City Limits a stop street.
Chief of Police Judd informed the Council of the inndeouate facilities in handling prisoners and rf-
commended the Mayor and Council give .,_rious consideration to this condition.
The Bills for August were read and on motion by Vassar, seconded by Ludy these Bills be allowed I
and warrants ordered drawn f'or the various amounts, all of which have been approved by the Finance Committee.i
