OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, 1915, DELETINC TT'E PROVISION SETTING THE HOZES THAT THE OFFFICE
OF THE CITY CLERK SHALL BE KEPT OPEN,"
which Was read for the first time and the Council proceeded to a consideration of Bill No.
27. It was moved McDannel, seconded by Blunt that the rules requiring that the reading
of a Bill on three separate days be suspended and that Bill No. 27 be read the second time
by title and the third time in full, section by section and placed on its final passage.
The Acting Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the motion with the following re-
sult: Those doting in the affirmative were: Dakan, Newman, Blunt, Frasher and McDannel.
Negative: None. Absent and not voting; Bryant. The Acting Mayor declared the motion had
passed by the necessary three - fourths majority and directed the Clark to read Bill No. 27
the second time by title and the third time in full, section by section. The Clerk read
the Bill as directed. The question being "Shall Bill No. 27 pass ?" The Acting Mayor
directed the Clerk to call the roll on the above question which resulted as follows; Those
voting in the affirmative ,were. Dakan, Newman, Blurit, Fresher and McDannel. Negative:
None. Absent and not voting: Bryant.
Thereupon the Acting Mayor declared Bill No. 27 had passed and ordered the same
submitted to the Mayor for his consideration, which Bill would become Ordinance No. 616
upon the approval of the Mayor.
There being no fufther business to tune before the Council, it was Moved by
Blunt, seconded by Newman that Council adjourn. Motion carrded.

The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Rooms of tbo
City Hall, with the Mayor H, E. McCluskey, presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present- Thurlow Bryant, wilbmr
Dakan, F,E. Newman, Floyd Blunt, E,E, Fresher and C. ®. McDannel.
The Minutes of August 3rd, 24th, and 26th, were read and approved as read.
Thereupon Councilman Blunt introduced Bill No 29, entitled:
OF 1942." AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING AND ORDERING PUBLISHED IN BOOR FORM THE "CALDWELL CODE
which was read for the first time amd the Council proceeded to a consideration of Bill No,
29. It was moved by Blunt, seconded by Bryant thatc. the rules requiring that the reading
of a Bill Bfl threeseparate days be suspended and that Bill No 29, be read the second time
by title and the third the in full, section by section and place on its final passa §e.
The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the motion with the following result:

Thereupon Councilman McDannel, introduced Bill No 30, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THEA SSESSMENT AND LSf6F OF A TAX FOR GENERAL REVENUE
PURPOSES FOR PAYING THE CURRENT EXPENSES OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, CANYON,COUNTY, IDAHO,
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING THE FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1942.
which was read for the first time and the Council proceeded to a consideratian of Bill NO
30, It was moved by Bryant, seconded by Dakan, that the rules requiring that the read-
ing of a Bill on three separate days be suspended and that Bill No 30 be read the second
time by title and the third time in full, section by section and placed on its final
passage. The Mayor directed the Clark to call the roll on the above motion with the
following result: Those voting in the affirmative were: Bryant, Dakan, Newman, Blunt,
Fraaher and McD Negative: None, Absent and not voting: None; The Mayor declared

to re Bill No 30 ifhe second time by title and the third time in full, section by

Thereupon the Mayor declared Bill No 30 had passed and the Mayor in open session
of the Council duly signed and approved the Bill, and the Clerk duly signed and attested
the same whioh aedame Ordinance No. 619.
Thel read a:letter from L. 0. Xrall, Fire Chief regarding fire pro-
tection for the Simplot Dehydrating Plant.
Moved by Bryant, seconded by Blunt that the City Engineer be authorized to
sell the railroad irons owned by the City, provided they are not needed in the con-
struction of the Airport Hangar. Motion carried.
The following Resolution was presented by Councilman McD
RESOLUTI ?N.
WHEREAS, LAWRENCE M. PORTER, City Engineer has advised the Mayor and c ouncil
that the northerly 12 feet of the street between Blocks 57 and 60 of the Canyon Hill
Cemetery is not needed for means ofcpgreas oe ingress to the adjoining lots and that said
unneeded portion of s.id street should be platted into lots; and,
WHEREAS, it appears to the Mayor and Council that said portion of said street
should be vacated and a dditional lots platted thereupon as suggested by the Engineer.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLL'ED, by the Mayor and Council of said City, that the
northerly 12 feet of the treat between Blocks 57 and 60 of the Canyon Hill Cemetery be Ad
the same hereby is vacated and that the Engineer of said City be and he hereby is directed
to-plat said vacated portion of said street into lots, to be designated and numbered Lots
53,54 ,55,56,57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64 and 65 respectively of Block 57, and said Engineer
be and he hereby is authorized to make and file an amended plat of said Block 57 to show
the vacation of said portion of said street and the additional lots as herein directed.
Councilman McD moved the adoption of the foregoing Resolution and Council-
man Fresher, seconded the Motion.
It was unanimously voted upon.
