Boise Palley 'Traol, ion Company, its ouecessors and assigns an electric railway franchise
over and across the I'MIction of Third Avenue and Albany Street and across Fourth Avenue
between Main Street and Albany - vtreet in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, " was read the
first time.
A motion was made by Councilman Sanberg, seconded Councilman Dickens, that
the rules be suspended and the reading on three separate nays be dispensed with and that
Bill No. 23 be read the second time by title, and the third time in full and placed on
its final passage. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted:

Hon. ,alter Griffiths, Dee 1 9. Pfost, et -«1 appeared to urge construction
of bridge over Indian Creek on South city limit line, petition for which and estimate of
cost of same having been filed with the City Clerk and presented to the Council in March,
1918.
It was voted upon motion of Councilman Jard, that a coemnittee be appointed
to present the matter to the County Commissioners and ascertain what arrangement could
be made for joint action in the construction of the bridge by the County and City, and that
the said Committee report to the Council at the next meeting.
The mayor appointed Councilmen Dickens, Amos J. Liiller and F. it. hiller.

at 8 o'clock P. U. as a time for discussion of the matter with all parties appearing
and concerned therewith.

Councilman Dickens, Chairman Street Committee, reported that in conformity
to resolution of City i;ouncil passed October 22nd., 1917, the Chairman of the street
Committee had repeatly called the attention of the officials of the Caldwell Traction
Company to the condition of their tracks, on the streets in this City and requested that
the said Company repair and put in good and safe condition that portion of the streets
used by them for right of way purposes, and that Ue requests had not been conplied with.
` It was thereupon voted upon motion of Councilman Dickens, seconded Councilman
Sanberg, that the City Clerk be and hereby is authorized and instructed to advertise for
bids for 'the repair of that portion of Arthur Street covered by franchises granted to
the Caldwell Traction Company, at the crossing of said Arthur Street 'Tuith 4th, 5th, 6th,
7th, 8th and 9th Avenues, as Per plane and specifications on file in the office of the
City engineer, bids to be received and opened by the City Council Senteinber 23x'd., 1918.

It Was voted upon motion of Councilman F. d. Iuillar, seconded Councilman
Dickens, that the Liayor appoint a Committee to investigate t:Lo edvisability of purchasing
a truck for use of water department.
The Llayor appointed Councilmen '�Jard, Mitchell and F. H. Culler.
