Councilman Fenrich recommended that the City accept the proposal of W. W. McDowell to collect raw '. garbage from certain restaurantsand other places of business in Caldwell. RESOLUTION IY BY COUNCILMAN FENRICH. J WHEREAS, W. W . McDowell with the consent of I. R. Nicol, garbage contractor has been collecting th garbage and refuge of certain restanrantsand other businesses, and WHEREAS, W. W. McDowell with reference to the garbage collected cooks the same for feeding to hogs said cooking being done in accordance with regulations of the Idaho•State Health Department. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that W. W. McDowell be permitted to collect said garbage from 9 restaurante and other places disposing of food stuffs for such period of time that he may have the consent J of the City Garbage contractor, and he makes his collections in a sanitary fashion and lastly in his use of the garbage so collected he complies with all of-the health regulations of the State of Idaho. Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen voted in favor: of the motion: Blomquist, Burrell, Eggere, Weick, Fenrich and Bettis. Againsts None. Absent and not votings None. I Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the Resolution adopted. There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Blomquist, seconded by Councilman Eggers that Council adjourn. Motion carried..) Mayor. The Bills for August were read and on motion by Blomquist, secm ded by Weick that these Bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for the various amounts all of.which had been approved by the Finance Committee. WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho feel the need to clarify the vacatio policy of the City of Caldwell with reference to paid vacations of full time city employees, NOW THEREFORE,it is hereby resolved by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell that each full time city employee shall be entitled to a two weeks vacation with pay after each full year of em- ployment; that said vacation rmust be taken within the year after the same has been earned at a time des- ignated by his department head and if not 8o taken within the year period after the same has been earned at the time designated by his department head said vacation right shall be forfeited. City Clerk l J i The Mayor informed the Council a United States Inspector was making a survey of the rat and garbage situation and a reoort to the Council would be made later. Councilman Bettis reported back to the Council that Joilet Street between 6th and 7th could not be opened at the present time as the City did not have right of way, also that the alley between Denver and Elgin from 13th to 14th could be opened if the property owners would the the irrigation ditch where it crossed the alley. Council Burrell informed the Mayor and - Council the lease between the City of Caldwell and Chas E. Sweaney and Patrick Sweeney would expire in the near future.and recommended that the City enter into a new lease with the Sweaney Brothers.
