COUNCIL CHAMBERS, AUGUST 29, 1927.
8 :00 P. Id.
Council met in regular session perzuant to adjournment of August 22, 1927,
with Free. Uumford presiding and the Following Councilmen present; Davis, Dutton,
Jackson, Roffman and McOonnel. ABSENT; MAYOR DUTILAP.
It was voted on motion of Roffman, seconded by IcGonnel, that the following
bills be allowed and warrants be drawn on the various funds for the amounts to -wit;

A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF PROPOSAL TO ISSUE AND SELL BONDS OF LOCAL
STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO.
5, OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IN THE COUNTY OF
CANYO11, STATE OF IDAHO, AI1D INVITING S11D RECEIVING BIDS

Council of the City of
Caldwell, Idaho:

hereby authorized, ordered
and directed
to be given and published as hereinafter provided, that
the Mayor and

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for the purchase of bonds
of Local Street Improvement District No. 5, of the City of Caldwell,
in the County of Canyon, State of Idaho, will be received at the
office of the City Clerk, until Monday, to -wit: the 3rd day of October,
A. D., 1927, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p. m. Said bonds shall be
in an amount aggregating the principal sum of :56,7000.00, in denom-
inations of w500.00 each, except 17 of said bonds shall be in the
denominations of X100.00 each; shall be numbered conseetively from
one up, to be dated September 1, A. D. 1927, payable in ten install-
ments of approximately equal amounts each year, each installment of
bonds maturing in the respective years annually from 1928 to 1937,
inclusive; but shall be subject to call on any interest date follow-
ing the delinquency of any installment of the assessment; said bonds
to bear interest at the rate not to exceed seven per cent per annum,
payable semi- aimually on the first day of March and September of
each year at some bank in the City of '_;ew York, State of New York,
to be designated at the time of the sale of such bonds, or at the
Office of the City Treasurer of the City of Caldwell, Idaho.
All tenders, bids or offers to purchase must be addressed to
the ideyor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, without con -
dition or qualifiention, end be accompanied by r cerftified check
on some bank in the state of Idaho, p, ^yable to the City Treasurer
of acid city in the amount of x5,000.00, to be forfeited to the
city as liquidated damages should the successful bidder fril or
refuse to take up or pay for the bonds within ten lays after the
notice by the city of its readiness to deliver said bonds. All
bids shall be conditioned upon the appr(iving opinion of ?ershing,
"yo, Tallmoee and Bostvorth, of the City of Denver, St.:te of
Colorado, as to the legality of the said issue; provided, however,
thr.t acid bonds shrll not be sold for less than their face of par
value and accrued interest at the time of disposal by the City
Treasurer under the general supervision of ti;e l:: --or and City Council.

once each week for a period of not less then two consecutive calendar weeks prior to

and procure proof of said publication in duplicate in the form of publishers affidavit,
and of which he shall preserve as a pert of the records and files in his office, and the
other of which he shall furnish to the purchaser of said bonds.
Sec. 3, The City Clerk is hereb authorized to cruse an appropriate adver-
tisement of acid bond sale to be published it not to exceed two issues of the "Daily
Bond Buyer" published in New York City.
Passed by the Council this 29th day of Auguat, 1927.
Approved by the Llayor this 29th day of August, 1927.

adopted be adopted. The Clerk, was directed to call the roll with the following result.

The Clerk was directed to record Resolution No, 3 upon the journal of the procee'inga of
the Council, as a part of the minutes of this meeting.
The matter of draining the City lark came to the attention of the Council, and
after some discussion the matter was referred to the Finance Committee and the Irrigation
and Drainage Committee.
The report of the Chief of Police was - read and ordered filed.
It was voted on motion of Dutton, seconded by NoConnel that Council adjourn.
