The time coming on regularly for the opening of bide for the Paving Bonds n m m and the Water Works Extension and Improvement Bonds, the bide were opened as follows: Portland, Oregon. Aug. 13, 1910. The undersigned hereby offers face value and accrued interest for all of tb e Local Improvement District No. 1 bonds, amounting to the sum of Twenty -six Thousadd Fifty -nine Dollars ans Seventy-eight Cents, ($26 advertised for sale by the City of Caldwell, Idaho. For the legally issued nonds of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, amounting to X77,000, or thereabouts ( t. e. $27,000 or such portion thereof se necessary for the paving and $50,000 for extending and improving the waterworks system) delivered to us in Chicago in denominatione of $1,000 as far as possible, dated July 1, 1910, and due twenty years after date, optional ten years after date, bearing interest at the rate of 8� per annum, both principal and semi- annual interest payable at the Chase National Bank, New Yprk City, we will pay you 177,206.00 and in addition will furnish the city free of expense, tl:.e. litho�ralhed blank bonds and draft of further proceeding@ to be taken in issuing the bonds. Honorable Mayor and City Council, Caldwell, Idaho, Gentlemen; F or the $25,000, legally issued and properly executed City of Caldwell, Idaho, 6% Municipal Paving Bonds dated September 1 1910, due September 1, 1930, and optional for payment on and after September 1, 1920, denomination 61,000. semi9annual interest payable on the first days of January and July of each year, and both princi- pal and interest payable at the office of the City Treasurer of Caldwell, Idaho, ot. at the Chase National Bank in the City 6f New York at the option of the holder, we will pay par and accrued interest to date of delivery of said bonds to us in Chicago, 111. and a premium of 059.78. 7Je also agree to furnish blank bonds ready for execu- tion free of expense. This proposition is made with the provision that the above mentioned bonds are a lien upon all the taxable property within the said City of Caldwell, and on the understanding that you will furnish us or cause to be furnished us a complete cer- tified transcript of all proceedings relating to the issuance of said bonds evidenc- ing their satisfactorily to our attorneys prior to the delivery of any bonds to us. We enclose herewith our certified check No. 10393 for $1,300, to be held by you as an evidence of good faith and to be returned immediately in case our attorneys decline to approve the legality of this issue. Council met in regular session pursuant to adjournment with Ilayor Gowen presiding and Councilmen Clark, Devers, Harris, Payntef present; Shorb, Clerk. A motion was made by Clark that the bid of E. H. Rollins & Sons for the $26,059.48 Paving Bonds and the 450,000 Water Works ?xtension and Improvement Bonds submitted August 15th, 1910, be accepted. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted: Ayes-- Olark, Devers, Harris, Paynter--4. Nays - -0. Absent -- Farrar, Gartin - -2. So the bids of E. E. Rollins & Sons were accepted. Bill No. 68 by Paynter, entitled, "An ordinance establishing Local Sprinkling Improvement District No. 2, for the purpose of sprinkling certain streets and parts of streets in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, and providing for the payment of the expense thereof by a special assessment levied against the abutting property and defining the duties and powers of the Street Committee in connection therewith ". Was read the first time. A motion was made by Harris that the rules be suspended and the teadings on three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No. 66 be read the second time by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted: Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Harriaq Paynter - -4. - Nays - -0. Absent -- Farrar, Gartin - -2. Bill No. 68 read second time by title. Bill No. 68 read third time in full and placed on its final passage. On the question, Shall Bill No. 68 pass? the roll being called, the vote resulted: Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Harrie Paynter--4. Nays - -0. Absent -- Farrar, Gartin - -2. So Bill No. 68 passed, becoming Ordinance No. 183. Voted, on motion of Clark that Council adjourn until Monday evening y 1910, at 8 0' clock p. m. F1 I] 0 f I
