TEU COUNCIL met in regular session, pursuant to adjournment a# 8 P.M. with Heyor Smeed,
presid , 9ounoilmen, Feuling, Harmon, Kimbrough, Mumford, Robb, & Wheeler, present.
Fouling reported that the Com_ittee of investigation on the Water Works was not ready to
report, so it was voted on motion of Kimbrough, seconded by 'Mheeler, that the Committee be
continued and goven time to reoheckthe bids, and then later report back to the Council.
Bill 17 by Robb,entitled, "AN ORDINA_;CE FERMI: THEATERS AND LIVING PICTURE SHOWS TO
KEEP O1 ON SUNDAYS IN TH:: CITY OF CALDWEL',, IDAHO, ACOORDIITG -0 THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION

was real for the first time.
Ad itional petetions for and against the opening of pioture shows on Sundays were presented
and it as voted on motion of 9'dheeler, seconded by Harmon, that these be presented to the
same Co ittee for knvestigation.

It was voted on motion of Harmon, seconded by Robb, that the Council adjourn to
Wednesday, Aug.13th, 1924 at 8 P.M.

The Council met in regular session ,pursuant to adjournemnt with Mayor Smeed, presi ing,
Councilmen, Pooling, Kimbrough, Mumford, Robb, & Wheeler, present, and Harmon, absent.
Bill No.14 was read for the second time.
Feuling of the Committee of Investigation of Bids for the repair, extension eto of the
10ater Works system , reported it was the sane of his oommittee, after careful invvstiga ion
as to errors orto., that the bid of J.P.Balea should be re'eoted, and the Contract award d to
Hartenbower Bros. for the furnishing of Labor,Conatruetion, and Material.
It was voted on motion of Kimbrough, seconded by tiumford, that whereas, J.P. .Bales h d not
furnished security equal to 5% of the amount for the total amount to be done and the ma erial
to be furnished, that his bid be rejected.
It was voted on motion of brumford,seconded by Kimbrough, that the report of the Coy ittee
be accepted, inasmuch as the bid of Hartenbower Bros, for the extension, repair , and improve-
ment of the Water Vlorks System was the best bid, that the Contra ^t be awarded to Harten ower
Bros., and the Lrzyyor and city Clerk be directed to execute the contract with the Hartani ower Bros.
Itawas voted on motion of Fouling, s =conded by ta=Xord, that the Council adjourn to
Wednesday, Sept. 3rd, 1924. /
