No further business appearing, it was moved by Babcock, seconded by Boynton that

A Special Meeting of the City Council met in the c ouncil Room with the Mayor,
W. R. Hollingsmorth presiding,
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; F. ll . bumford, N. S.
Boynton, W.". Babcock and G, M. Fenrich; Absent: Edger L, Oakes and Norvil T, Hinds,
Thereupon Mr, Walter (7riffith appeared before the Mayor and Council and requestdd
permission to repair or cause to be repaired his building,recently damaged by fire, be-
tween 9th., and 10th,, on Arthur Street and extending across Indian Creek and submitted a
statement inwriting as to the nature of the repairs he proposed to have done, to -wit:
New 2 inch native plank floor over the entire floor area, same to be laid
over the present old floor.
Patching and repairing the present floor so that the new floor can be laid
over it.
Replace 20 sheets of d"orrugated iron roofing on-the roof.
Replace all the iron on the rear of the building from the top of the doors
to the roof line, but will utilize all Of the sheets that are not too badly
rusted to be as good as the rest of the covering.
Paint the entire f wont surface of the main building with two coats of lead
and oil paint colored to suit the tenant and you.
Tear out the whole of the old office partitions.
Build a new concrete ramp approach to the large front door which opens onto
Arthur Street.
Grade up and fill and gravel the approach to the reg$ door so that the care
can be driven into the building over a mord uniform approach.
Raise the E at side of the building up to a more level position and build
up a fo mdation of lave rock and Sravel in the pinae where the concrete has
washed out.
Thereupon after due consideration the following Resolution was presented to the
Mayor and Council by Councilman Babcock who moved the adoption thereof which motion was
duly seconded by Councilman Boynton.

BE IT RESOLVED that the above application be and the same is hereby referred
to the City Attorney and the Building Inspector and that said Building Itmspect-
or be and he is hereby authorized and directed (if in his judgment the proposed
repairs shall not increase the fire hazard in the City of Caldwell) to issue a
proper permit for the rapair of said building in accordance with the above pro-
position and request submitted.
A Yea end Nay vote was had thereon with the following result; Yea F, D. Mum -
ford, W. S. Boynton, 17. E. Babcock and G. M. Fenrich, Nay:- None, Absent and not voting:

Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion c and the Resolution duly adopted,
Mr. Hinds entered and was marked present,
Mr. Mumford was excused from the uouncil.
Mr. G. W. Haynes appeared before the Mayor and "ouncil and stated that golf ball
from the golf course had gone wild in some instances and hit his coves in the adjoinieg_
field. Some discussion was had and no action was taken.
Ernest Earl appeared and stated that one of the cars used by the Water Depart-
ment was beyond repair.
Moved by Councilman Babcock,s econded by Councilman Boynton that Councilmen,
Hinds, Fenrich and Boynton be appointed to purchase a used car for the Water Department.
Motion carried.
No further business appearing, it was moved by Boynton, seconded by Fenrich the
Council adjourn. Motion carried.

City Hall, with the Mayor, W. R. Hollingsworth, presiding,
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, F. D.
Mumford, W. S. Boynton, W. E. Babcock,_G. It. Fenrich and'Norvil T. Hinds.
The Minutes of August lot., 4th„ and 8th., were read and approved as read.
The Clerk read a letter from A. M. Whelchel asking the cancellation of taxes on
Lot two and the East twenty -five feet of Lot 1, of Block 7, 1 "ashington Heights Addition
to the City of Caldwell. This mattgr was held over until the next Council Meeting.
The Clark read a letterfrom Robt. Landauer asking the cancellation of taxes on
Lot 1 -2 -3 and 4 of Block 109, Strahorn Addition. Nol, of the City of Caldwell.
After due consideration the following resolution was presented to the Mayor and
Council by Councilmen Oakes, who moved the adoption, w'ich motion was duly seconded by
Councilman Babcock,
