COUNCIL CHMIBERS , dUGU3T 7, 1933.
8: P. M.
The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
City Hall, with the Mayor, Emery L. Vassar, presiding.
On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, 7. �.
Boynton, C. E. Bales, G. Montgomery, G. M. Fenrich, and R. Hollingsworth.
The Minutes of July 1st., were read and approved as read.
The Mayor presented a bill for J. B. Cole for the rent of a tract of land, known
as Lake Howard. The rent being $75.00 for tavo yens. Moved by G. W. Montgomery and
seconded by G. 74. Fenrich, that the $75.00 be accepted for the two years rent. Motion
carried.
Ben Gray asked permission to place m -Ions for sale on the parking in front of
his place of business. The Council decided not to let him de so.
The Mayor turned in a complaint from L. 1. Harmon and others in regards to
persons doing their own wiring, also, that the old wiring in builcings is over loaded,
dangerous and a fire hazzard and should be Inspected.
The Mayor appointed Oakes and Montgomery to investig:,Ce.
The Mayor turned•in a complaint from Joe Robinson in regard to licenses , And
people selling milk.
The Mayor appointed Chief 0. G. Boyd to Investig the number of persons
selling milk.and also the number of cows in torn.
The Lions Club asked permission to place benches in the park painted green and
lettered white with merchants ads end paid for by the merchE,nts.
Moved by Oakes and seconded by iontgomery that the Lions Club be granted gerf
mission to place these benches in the park under the supervision of the Park Committee.
Motion carried.
Thq Snodgrass Sisters put in a .complaint about outside photographers taking
pictures in town. Decided to drop the clatter for the present time.
Peder Jensen put in a complaint negurding the spraying of elm trees, that the
elm beetle was still working on his trees. TheCounell decided to spray again without
charge.
The Mayor decided to have the spraying couanittee investigate.
The City attorney vi,s instructed to investigate the .water right on the air -port
and to instruct George Crookham to leave the headg_.te alena.
The. Mayor appointed Montgomery and Bales to investigate golf links and fees at
sir -port.
The, Bills for July were read and on motion .ade by B l es and seconded by Fenrich
rhat these Bills be allowed and Warrants be ordered drain for the various amounts, all of
nhieh had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee,

On the Swimming Pool Committee the Mayor appointed J. H. Lowell,. Chairman, Rev.
A. B. Parrott, L. A. Harmon and Fred McConnell.
Moved by Montgomery and seconded by Boynton. Motion carried.
The Mayor declared Mrs.A. B. Cornell's place on the Library Board permanently
vacant and appointed Mrs. Minnie Davenport to fill her place.
Moved by Bales and seconded by IIollingswor'th. Motion carried.
The Mayor appointed Fred McConnell as City Engineer..
Moved by Hollingsworth and seconded by Fenrich. Motion carried.
The Mayor appointed 7% S. Boynton to get a roll of paper and have the barn roof
patched.
Moved by Bales and seconded by Fenrich that the city comply rlth Goverment
Regulations. Motion carried.
Moved by Boynton add seconded by Oakes thnt Dick Beatty have charge of moving
the watering fountain to the triangle snot near the park.

On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: C. E. Bales, G. M.
Montgomery, 'W, R.. Hollingsworth and G. M. Fenrich.:.Absent Edgar .Oakes and I.Y. S. Boynton.
The Minutes of August azat., were read and approved as read.
Major Hudgins appeared and asked that the old Interurban Track be graded and
graveled to Linden. The Council dedided to have the Street Commissioner
to investigate. Major Hudgins also asked that Block 77, Lots 1 to 10, Fairview be avert-
ed into acreage for purpose of irrigation. Tile Council decided to ask the Pioneer Ir-

Moved by Bales and seconded by Montgomery.
Motion carried.
Judge Haydon appeared and asked the Council to have the City Attorney co- operate
with Geo'Crookham regarding the irrigation eater on his place. The Council decided to
investigate.
The R "o b asked permission to construct a fish pond at the air -port,
for which they agree to look after the air - port property.
Moved by Montgomery and seconded by Hollingsworth that the Council accept the
recommendation : of the Air -Port Committee regarding the fish pond at the eir -port, also the
the City Attorney be authorized to draw up a contract to be accepted by the Mayor and
City Clerk., Motion carried.
Thereupon Councilman Bales introduced Bill No. 5, by Hales, entitled:
