Gouncilman Hoffman called attention to the need on a new radiator on the old Fire Pumper trunk. The matter was :eeferred to the Fire Sommittee with power to sot. Council met in regular session persuent to adjournment of August 3, 1928, with Mayor Dunlap presiding and Councilmen DAVIS, DUTTON, HOFFMAN, JACKSON AND 9000N=, PRESEB ABSENT: MOMFOO. H. Br Thompson and G. A. Peterson, representing the Oregon Short Line Railroad Oompany appearid before the Mayor and Council in the interest of the improvement contem- plated in Looms Street Improvement District No. 8 along their right -of -way on the South side of Avon Street. It was agreed that the Oregon Short Line Railroad gompany would move their railroad track to the South side of the street and pay for the curb and gutter to be oonstruoted. BILL.NO. 21, HY HOFFMAN, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SCALE OF COMPENSATION FOR PI N EMPLOYED IN THE FIR& DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF CALEWELL, IDAHO, was read the first time in Pull. It vise moved by Hoffman, seconded by Jackson that the rules requiring a bill to be read on three separate days be suspended, and that Bill No. 21 be read second time by title, third time in full section by section and placed on,ito final passage. The Mayor directed the 4ork to call the roll with the following result; AYES: DAVIS, bV1T ON, HOFFMAN, JACKSON AND MCCONNEL. HAYES: NONE. ABSENT: MOMFORD. Thereupon the Mayor deolared the motion carried. On the motion as put by the Mayor. "Shall Bill No.. 21 pass?" Thereupon the Mayo' declared the motion carried, and Bill No. 21 now beoome Ordinance No. 456, signed and approved same and directed the Clerk to record same in Book of Ordinances and be published in the Caldwell Newa- Tribune the official newspaper of the City of Caldwell, Idaho. BILL N0. 22, BY MCCONNEL, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE VACATING THAT PART OF 11TH AVENUE LYING BETWEEN DEARBORN STRE3T AND EVERETT STREET IN THE CITY OF CALDWELL, IDAHO " was read the first time in full. it was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Dutton, that all bide for the construction of curbs and gutter in Local Street Improvement District No. 8,be rejected. It was voted on motion of Mogonnei, seconded by Mumford, that a notice be pub- lished calling for bide for the construction of curbs and gutter in Local Street Improve- ment District No. 8, payable in bonds only. The reports of the City Treasurer, City Clerk and Seaton was regd and ordered placed on file. It was voted on motion of Mumford, seconded by MoConnel, that the Water Works Committee be authorized to advertise for bide for drilling of three wells up to a depth of 400 feet. It was voted on motion of Mcgonnel, seconded by Hoffman, that Council adjourn- APPROVED: MAYO tea
