Council Chambers, City of Caldwell, Monday evening, August 5, 1912.
Council met in regular seeF with Mayor Walter Griffitha, presiding, and Councilmen
E. H. Adam, C. Q. Adams, John Stunenberg, T. B."Walker, and H. J. Zeh, present; C. J.
Shorb, clerk, when the following business was transacted;
Minutes of the meetings held in July read and approved as readl
The report of the sexton was read and, on motion of Zeh, approved and ordered
filed.
The report of the city clerk was read and, on *otion of Adam, approved and
ordered filed.
The report of the Chief of Police was read and, on motion of Zeh, - approved and
ordered filed.
The report of the superintendent of water works was read and, on motion of
Walker, was approved and ordered filed.
The report of the police ,judge was read and, on motion of Adams, was approved
and ordered Piled.
The retort of the city engineer was read and, on motion of Zeh, the same, to-
gether with construction of ti.e Caldwell Traction Company's bridge across Indian Creek
at Arthur street, was referred to the street committee.
The report of the city treasurer was read and, on motion of Adam, approved
and ordered filed.
The report of the superintendent of streets was read, and on motion of Walker,
approved and ordered filed.
The following claims were read ai d, on motion of Adams, allowed, and warrants
drawn on Us several funds as followas

A letter from Department of Public Safety Boise, offering for sale a hand
drawn chemical engine was read and the clerk instructed to write city that we have no
need for such apparatus.
Tile time coming on regularly for the hearing of protests against the estab-
liehing of Local sprinkling Districts 1, 2, and 3, and no protests appearing, theclerk
was instructed to so note on his minutes.
Voted, on motion of Walker, the bids for sidewalks, were opened and con-
sidered.

Calk ins & Bingham walk 13 1 -2 eta. square aurfaae ft, or 67 1 -2 cts.per
running ft for 5 ft, walks. Fills 750'per square yard.
Terry & Oakes walk 13 1 -2 per sq. foot. Fill 75 cents per yard.
W..W.'Glenn, walk per square'surface foot. Fill 75 per square yard.

Voted, on motion of Zeh, that the bide be referred to the street com-
mittee to report tomorrow evening.
Coal bide as follows were opened and on motion of Zeh, referred to the
building committee.

Central lumber and Coal Co., Utah lump, $8,00 Utah nuy $7.50; Rock Springs
lump 0.50; Utah mine run, $7.50 per ton.
r Caldwell Ica & Cold Storage Co., Lump coal , $7.50 by car, f.o.b. Caldwell

I Petition of G. A. Philpot, praying that the city extend the water works
to the Dorman Lake View Aldition was read and on motion of Zeh, referred to the water
committee.
Voted, on motion of Zeh, that Council adjourn until Tuesday August 6, 1912,
at 5 P.M. Q p
Tuesday August 6, 1912. Council met in regular session pursuant to ad-
journment with Mayor Griffiths, presiding and Councilmen, Adam, Adams, Bardsley, Steunen
berg, Walker, Zeh, present; Shorb,clerk.
r Bill No. 25, by Zeh, entitled, "An Ordinance known as appropriation b,,,
I[ appropiating such sums of money as deemed necessary to defray all necessary, expenses
and liabilities of the City of Caldwell for the fiscal year beginning on the first
Tuesday of May 1912, not otherwise provided for."
A motion was made by Zeh, that the rule's be suspended and the readings on
three separate days be dispensed with aid that Bill No. 25 be read the second time by
title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being call -
ed on the motion, the vote resulteds
Aye- Adam, Adams, Bardsley, Steunenberg, Walker, Zeh -6.
Nays & Absent- None. So the motion prevailed.
Bill No 25 read the second time by title.
Bill No 25 read the third time in full and placed on its final passage.
On the question, Shal Bill No. 25 pass? the roll being celled the vote resulted:
Aye- Adam, Adams, Bardlssy, Steunenberg, Walker, Zeh, -5.
3 Nays and Absent- None.
So Bill No. 25 passed, becoming Ordinance No, 220.
Voted, on motionof Zeh, that the sinking fund monies be transferred from
the Bond & INtereet fund to the proper sinking funds, as followed

WW.Ex. Bond & Sinking Fund, 2500.00
Paving Bond Sinking Fund, 1300.00
Fundbng Bond Sinking Fund, 500.00
The Finance committee recommended the Dement claim for right of way be
disallowed.
On motion of Adams, the claim report of the finance was approved and the
claim disallowed
