The Council met in regular session, Aug.4th,1924 at 6 P.M. with Mayor SmePd,presid ng,
Counoilmen, Feuling,Harmon, Kimbrough, Rmbb, & iheeler, present. and Mumford, absent.
Minuses of previous session were read end a proved.
Fouling of the Committee of investigation on theh requests for a light on the co ner of
either 21st or 22nd and Blaine; on asking the Idaho Power co to run a line a block to orner of
®bh & 1° annibal, and ruining an alley between Arthur and Blaine Ste., andbewteen 19th & 20th,
reported that the Committee did not recommend any od the three, so it was voted on mot on of
Kimbrough, seconded by Robb, that the report of the above Committee be accepted.
It was voted om motion of Harmon, seconded by Feuling, that Mayor appoint a oom kittee
of two to rep®rt to the City Clerk the number of crossings andthe O.S.L.R.R.Co. and Bo se Val'_ey
Traction 00 4ke that need repairing and that the City Clerk be directed t notify the Lbove-
Campanies to attend to the same accordingly. ]Mayor appointed Wheeler &ling.
Bill No.13, 11 ENTITLED AN ORDINA'CE APPROPRIATING MONEY IN SUCH STnj AND SUMS AS 3 DEEMED
NECESSARY TO DEFRAY ALL PROPER ESPENSE3 AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF CALpWELL,IDAHO, NOT
OTHERWISE PROVIDP FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING ON THE ON THE FIRST TUESDAY OF 11AY,19 4,ALL
AS PROVIDED IN 1923 SESSION LAWS OF IDAHO, CHAPISR 157, PAGE229," WAS READ FOR THE. FI. T TIME.
A motion was made by Kimbrough, seconded by Robb, that the rules requiring the reading of a bill
on three separate days be suspended and the bill read the second ti a by title and the third time
in ful'_, and placed on its final passage. The roll being called on the same the result was as
follows;
AYES:FEULING, HARMON, KI1[TBROUGH, ROB -, AND WHEELER.
NAPES :NONE.
ABSENT:IMIFORD. So the Mayor declared the motion had passed, and directed the Clerk to read
the bill the second time by title and the third time in full, and on the questions placed by
the Mayor, shall Bill No.13 pass7 the roll being called on the same the result was af follows:
AYES: FEULING, HARMON, KIMBROUGH, ROBB, AND WHEELER.
NAYES: NONE.
ABSENT: NII712ORD. So the MW or declared the bill had passed and now became Ordinance 93. The
Cldrk was instructedtbo make the proper entry and cause the same to be published in tl e
Caldwell Tribune, the official newspapervoof the City of Caldwell, Idaho.
Resolution No.9 by Mumford was presented:
PQiereas, the City has dispensed with the services of a Water Superintendent in the Water Works
Department of said City, and have combined the work of said Department with that of t e City
Engineer and City Clerk, and,
Whereas, the duties devolving on the City Clerk as a result of said change have caused
the said City Clerks office to perform a greater portion of the work of the °l ater Wor. s
Department than in the past, and,
Whereas, it is thought to be for the best interests of the entire pity that said Water
Works Department bear its fair share of the expense thereof, and,
Whereas, it will not result in an increase in salary of any city offieill but ra her
a transfer of funds from which said officials salary shall be derived, and,
Whereas, it will more equally divide the burden of expense in accordance with t is work
performed for all branches of the City,
Now, Therefore, be it resol e& by the Mayor and Council of the Caldwell, Canyon ounty,
Idaho, that the City Clerk shall draw from the Water Works Department the sum of N10 .00a per
month for services performed for that department and the sum of $50.00 for services I erformed
as City Clerk to take effect from and after the let day of July, 1924.

It w s voted on motion of Harmon, seconded by Fouling, that Tourists in the Park be assessed
26 cent per day for each day of their sojourn per ear and the Park Superintendent be given
this as part Compensation.
It as voted on motion of Wheeler, seconded by ° 'euling, that the Mayor and City Clerk be
directe to certify to the Pioneer Irrigation District in accordance with the terms of the
Contrac the sum of $11,000.00 foe the maintenance, operation, repairs, improvement, and extension
of the at part of the Irrigation system within the City, as is controlled by the City for the
fiscal .ear. 1925.
