Thereupon a Yea and Nay vote wart ®ken on the REsolution with the following
result: Yea; Dakan, McD #nnel and Newman: Nay;, Frasher, Not voting;, Bryant. Absent
a nd not voting Blunt.
Th- reupon the Mayor declared the motion had passed and the REsolution duly adopts .
Moved by Bryant, seconded by Fresher that Salary R be placed on table
for thirty days.
Thereupon a Yea and Nay vote was taken on the motion with the following result;
Yea Bryant and Fresher, Nay; Dakan, WoDennsl and Newman. Absent and not voting: Blunt.
Thsreupon the Mayor declared the motion lost.
Council received and opened bids for the sale of the old Interurban Bridge
across Boise River near Curtis Park. The only bid received was from W.W. McDowell which
was a a follows;
"I hereby make bid of $7.00 per ton on all the iron in the old interurban -car ire
bridge tihichei.s over the Boise River and on the old interurban rail road - frght of way.
Payments for the iron to be made in cash ten (10) days after weighing, and
wighing to be done as shipped; in about thirty (30) ton lots as fast as bridge is wrecked.
Pur. baser to perform all labor of wrecking the bridge, transporting the iron to
shipping point and loading same on oars for shipment."

It was voted to accept the bid of W. W. McDowell and the City Attorney was inr .
structed to draw a contract imparting the terms of the bid and write a perhormance bmRd
to be signed by the Mayor and City Clerk on behalf of the City and W. W McDowell before
any portion of the bridge was removedfrom the premises on which it is now located.
There being no. further business tocomebefofe the Council, it was moved by
Bryant, seconded by McD that Council adjourn. Motion carried.

The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
City ]jell, with the Mayor H.E. McCluskey presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; Thurlow Bryant, Wilbur
Dakan, F.E. Newman, Floyd Blunt, E.E.Freshor.;. Absent: C. 0. MCDannol
The Minutes of July 6th., were read and approved as read.
Councilman MCD"nnel entered and was marked present.
Application for Beer Licenses wire read from E.G.Bow and Saratoga flub the fee
accompanying each appliogtion.
Moved by Bryant seconded by Blunt that these licenses be granted. Motion
carried.
Store.
A letter was read from Dunlap & Dunlap regarding Beer License for Safeway
This matter was left on the table. ,
Affidavit of Publication of Ordinance No 559 was read by the City Clerk.
The Mayor Infbrted the.Councll that Mrs. Dan Garvey had tendered resignation
a member of the Swimming Pool Board.
Moved by Dakan, seconded by Bryant that the Council.accept the resignation of
. Dan Garvey.
The Mayor appointed MRS. CARL CARLSON has member of the SWIMMING BOARD to fill
- the vacancy left by Mrs. Garvey's resignation.
Moved by Dakan, seconded by Bryant that this appointment be confirmed. Motion
carried.
The Bills for July were read and on motion by Bryant, seconded by Dakan that
these Bills be allowed and Warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts all of wbioh
had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Motion carried.

as Meat Inspector.
Moved by Bryant, seconded by Dakan that the Coancil accept the resignation of
Dr.Tugaw. Motion carried.
The Mayor appointed DR. JOHN C. WILLIAMS, as MEAT INSPECTOR, to
fill the vacanc'
left by Dr.Tugaw's resignation.

RE OLUTION
By Dakan.
'APPROVING PLAT OF ADDITION NO. 1, BLOCK "0". CANYON HILL CEMETERY.
BE IT REHOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of Caldwell that the Plat to Addition
Number One Block " 0" Canyon Hill Cemetery, as prepared by the City Engineer of sold City
under date of August 1942, be and the some is hereby approved and adopted, and
that the V%yor and City Clerk of said City in behalf of said City, be and they hereby are
directed to execute a certificate to said plat in the form required by low approving and
adopting same, and dedicating the streets and alleys shown by said plat to the use of the
,public forever.
The motion to adopt the resolution was duly seconded by Councilman VeDannel.
The motion was put, unanimously carried and declared adopted and carried.
Councilman Bryant informed the Council he had received a telegram from Congress
Compton I. thite stating that action would be taken immediately regarding the Caldwell
hangar.
There being no further business to come before the Council, it was moved by
Council Newman, seconded by Councilman Blunt that Council adjourn. Motion carried.

The Council of the City of Caldwell convened in Spenial.Session in the Council
Room of the City Hall pursuant to a call of the Mayor, with the Mayor, H.E. McCluskey
presiding.
on Roll Call the following Councilmen answered presents Thurlow Bryant, Wilbur
Daken, F.E. Newman, Floyd Blunt, and C.O. McDannel. Absent: E.E. Fresher.
Thereupon the following proclamation of the Mayor was read at length by the
Clerk.

Caldwell, Idaho.
Caldwell, Idaho
August 24th, 1942.
I, H.E. McCluskey, Mayor of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, under and by virtue of
authority vested in me by Section 49 -324 I.C.A. do hereby call a special meeting of the
Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, to be held in the Council Room at the City Hall
in said city on this 24th day of August, 1942, at the hour of eight o'clock P.M.
The object of this special meeting is to consider matters submitted by Carl C.
Kitchen of Boise, Idaho, with reference to considering the passage of certain ordinances
